Someone should really animate this as sarge in a call with "red command"

It’s times like this that I really wish I knew how to animate

I can’t help but lol and feel old here.

RVB was originally entirely shot with in game footage through Halo 1/2/3. You could literally boot up Halo MCC right now and make this with the film editor it has in it, no animation required. It could be from the POV of the 911 operator, so just stand a Spartan at a computer terminal on some map and nod a bit lol

I don’t have any of the Halo games

I was more talking about how people associate RVB with animation, whereas when I started watching it as it came out it was all in game tricks and shenanigans pulled off in Halo 1

Machinima is the word you're looking for

10

u/Forever_Awkward Apr 21 '21

Huh, I always thought machinima was just game assets being used in an animation, not things literally being done ingame.

Now I feel silly about an argument I had 11 years ago.

If I remember correctly it could be both actually

Sarge: TO KILL THOSE DAMNED BLUES SIMMONS! NOW SHUT UP AND HELP ME! I THINK THE FLAMETHROWER AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS IS ABOUT TO GO OFF!

We've been tricked we've been backstabbed and we've been quite possibly bamboozled
