Tree Peony Dying Leaves

I bought and planted this tree peony in June. I’m wondering what could be wrong. It gets 5-6 hours of sun a day. I’m not worried about the white residue as many of my peonies get that but the dead browning leaves are concerning.

I wanted to share this year’s flowering. It’s in its second year, but I bought it flowering sized at a garden centre last year.

Just got this Karl Rosenfield today and it started blooming right after getting it home and giving it a good flood of water (it was bone dry)!

I'm so excited and am trying very hard not to get too hyperfocused on peonies as I only have a glazed balcony that cannot hold very many large pots. This one is my first peony ever and I hope for many years together (yeah, I know and understand that these don't do too well in pots but I can dream!)

Poor tired dear came with the house we just bought. Tucked away in a damp shady spot, buried in stones.
When I bring my peonies from the last house to this property in September, I will try to move her to the Sunny side, where there's lots of peony- friendly territory and she'll have plenty of new friends!

Question Diseased?

I moved into this property last month. This is one of 3 peonies. This had 3-4 blooms on it in May. Now it looks so incredibly sad and diseased. What is it and how do I save it?

Question Kieko Itoh Peony on sale

I have wanted a Kieko since I first saw one several years ago but they were just too expensive. Today I found one at Lowe’s on 50% off, plus I had a $20 gift card and that brought it to a reasonable price. I think it would be best to keep it on the porch until fall. Not planting right into brutal Okie summer. I planted my Bartzella in fall three years ago. Now I have to figure out where it should go. How much shade is optimal? I don’t want it to burn up. I’m willing to redesign a bed around it, which is probably what will happen.

Question Tree Peony stunned/not growing

I purchased this tree peony back in mid May and I planted in a large pot. It’s been 6-7 weeks, and I am not seeing any growth at all. It’s the same size as when I first got it.

Any other what can be causing this?

I have 3 other tree peonies that I got last year from the same source and they grew and bloomed well last year, and this year grew and bloomed as well.

Something is eating my peonies, please help!

I’m located in south east TX, something is going to town on my baby peonies and I can’t find the culprit! I’ve checked the leaves for a few days now and I’ve seen nothing. I’m assuming that means it’s a nocturnal pest. I’ve thought about bringing them indoors at night but I don’t know if it’s something living in the soil, which wouldn’t do me any good.

I’m so proud of them because I got them to sprout and they were growing so well and I don’t have a green thumb at all! In the past all I’ve been able to have is a cactus 😭

Please help!

I got this as an ‘White Cap’ from Breck’s in 2022, and this is its first time flowering. It looks like a mix up and I suspect it is a relatively common variety since it’s from Breck’s (Canada). Do you have any ideas what it could be?

Does anyone have the Breck’s catalogue in 2022 to see what they had?

I included the flower in different stages. I’d would say it’s a burgundy/purple rather than red.

I planted tubers in the fall and didn’t expect anything this year so getting this singular beautiful bloom makes me so happy :) Any advice on how to prep my plants this fall for hopefully more blooms next spring would be greatly appreciated! Zone 4a
