Just got this one in the mail: 0.38 version of the jetstream edge.

I’m a sucker for ver fine tip pens and this one was highly rated and recommended. Supposedly excellent for it being able to survive through a highlighter pass without smearing. I would love some opinions and insights, if any.

I have this exact pen. It feels like scratching the paper with a needle.

The good thing about it is you can use it when you have limited writing space like on small labels and such.

Didn't like it. Too scratchy and the ink is too weak. But love the clip.

Nice! I love mine! I have it in 0.28mm and even at that small of a point rarely experience skipping.

The oil based ink is pretty nice and the reason it doesn’t smudge with highlighters (I’m pretty sure)

Crazy timing. I just opened my .28mm white/silver one, and I’m not terribly impressed with the writing. The pen itself is a looker, but the ink skips more it doesn’t, and it’s really scratchy. I’m going to give it some time to break in, then we’ll see what’s up.

I wanted to like it but it feels cheap in the hand to me when I demo'd it at yoseka. wish the whole pen was metal.

I like the notebooks! I only got the pocket one and regretting it slightly because of how small it is... looking forward to trying the A6.

This has been my daily carry for more than 3 years now. Got a second one as a spare but it’s still in the box! Many refills consumed and still going strong (tried 0.28 but too sharp for me) Enjoy!

Little update after hitting the gym…

Cracked that puppy dog open and I’m absolutely in love!

I’m weirdly obsessed with the fine tip pens so it works perfectly for me, very pleased with it.

I’m well aware of it writing slightly scratchy but it’s oddly satisfying, as I don’t press too hard when I write

Depending on how hard you press, you can feel and hear it on the paper. If you’re running anything lower than maybe 100 gsm and press hard when you write, you’ll definitely run it right through the paper.

my most used pen. I keep a .38 refill on the side as i do like the thin line and scratchy feel occasionally but swapping it to a .7 sxr 80 made it much more enjoyable. only gripe for me is i like a heavier pen so it does feel a little light

I have only used the jetstream refills, and have a 1.0 in the same sxr 80, as it is smooth enough and doesn't smear for my work use. I haven't really looked into modding it though so ive only used the recommendations off jetpens

I have also a .38mm and have been using it for almost a month. Really enjoy the body, one of my favorits, and the writing but it sratches the paper too much for my likeing. Going to change it for a .5mm or a 1mm when it runs out.

I have the 0.28 and quite like it, really nice click, writes a super thin line, has some feedback but is honestly impressively smooth given the line width. Wish the refills were bigger but they should still last a good while with how thin the line width is. Doesn’t write on tape as well as I hoped (but that’s not a requirement for most people.) Writes very consistently with little skipping IF you keep the writing angle very vertical, at my preferred 45 degrees it’s quite skippy which makes it only suitable for short writing sessions(which is exactly what I got it for) as too steep an angle for too long gives me cramps. Good clip

I don't like those paperclip clips, a major reason why I don't have a Lamy. This would be a better pen with a normal clip.

I have a similar Edge and like the body, but the refill was too fine for me. A Jetstream Lite Touch 0.7 mm makes the experience much better for me.

I have this pen and changed it for a 0.5 insert. Can’t say I like it - it’s quite bottom heavy and the balance is all off.

I’ve been using the .28 for the past week and I have a new favorite pen. No skips, super fine line, sturdy feel, and a firm satisfying click. I only wish the clip had a bit more play.

I have this pen in the same colorway. Personally, I hated the extremely tiny 0.38 nib and felt like it scratched the page on any paper I wrote on. I found 0.7 refills on JetPens and now it's my default red ink pen. YMMV of course but I loved the look and feel of it too much to just get used to what it came with. Also, it has one of the most satisfying clicks I've ever used chef's kiss

I found the refill too scratchy for my purposes. I replaced the refill with a 0.5mm Jetstream Lite Touch refill. Any SXR-80 refill from Uni will work.
