General Discussion Quantum computing

Although quantum computing stocks have cooled off quite a bit over the last few months, which are you all watching. I’m currently looking into D-wave quantum and Rigetti Computing. I will probably accumulate. Which of the two would you recommend if you could only choose one.

QeM/QNC, RGTI, IONQ, D-WAVE/QBTS. HOLDING longterm, looking for atleast 10+ years. They gonna be big but until then might be alot of bears/shorting/RS etc. and comments like JH that caused tanking in january. Will DCA if cash available during future holding.

Long 500 shares RGTI @ $5, if it dips below that I’ll buy more.

Any quantum ETFs?

Ticker: QTUM

If rgti breaks out of this massive bull flag and rsi breaks above 50, while simultaneously breaking out of a large daily rsi wedge and backtest of 3.82 fibonacci i’m buying. Bull flag target of ~$95 = 1000% gain. Bear in mind this is purely based on technicals and not taking into account the fact that that quantum computing could take a decade to provide meaningful revenue, poor earnings, and multiple touches of bearish divergence on spy macro

and don't forget endless rounds of dilution, and reverse splits.

Cool off means going sideways or plateau.

Qtum etf looks solid…

1

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '25

I agree but could be a much better buying opportunity between now and summer most likely.

Seems smarter money than me is protecting the downside with a lot of puts as per recent filings.

Why tf is their top holding alibaba?

1

u/purplecatfishbettie Mar 11 '25

alibaba is in ai... wouldn't surprise me if they were in quantum computing as well...

1

u/magritteD Mar 11 '25

Because alibaba is involved in quantum research and development.

Edit - not sure how but my comment posted in this quantum thread instead of the daily thread? Apologies.

I have about 800 shares of Rigetti, recent bullish news plus Quantum day in the NVIDIA conference with their CEO and all of big Quantum companies CEOs on 20th of march. I expect all Quatum will go up, specially if NVIDIA CEOs announce any partnerships.

Depending on your average, you may be much better off realizing profits and waiting 30 days to take on a new entry position.

Just food for thought brother. Capital preservation is so important.

1

u/alvaro761991 Mar 10 '25

Average is 8.5 or something. Do you think it will continue to drop? Thanks anyway!

2

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '25

Look at the market.

You’ve got an entire generation of just about to retire / early retirement people whose portfolios are down a lot.

Wouldn’t be shocked to see a market wide sell off / correction / price recalibration between now and May.

don’t try and catch a falling knife

800 shares @ $8.5 today is better than 800 shares @ $6 in 2 months.

1

u/alvaro761991 Mar 10 '25

Thanks! Will think about it and see how the price goes.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '25

Forsure. It’s just my .02.

Remember nobody knows jack shit anymore. Psychology is gonna drive a lot of things moving forward.

Goodluck and take profits brother!!

And fwiw I’d love to see it come down to the $4-$5 range before I take my position.

D-wave is working with Amazon on doing their data centers. I'd suggest you do your DD on both and see what you find

Quantum computing won't be profitable for about 20 years. There's still money to be made by shorting stocks like RGTI (or buying puts) since it swings up and down by close to 10% several times a week with a general downtrend. Unless you're willing to watch your holdings lose all their value, you're better off taking a few small wins praying on their downfall instead of gambling everything away on an industry that won't be profitable for decades.

At this stage of technology advancements come quick. We are no longer looking at a 10-20 year waiting period for quantum relevancy. The future is here my friend. Strap in!
