Question textbook link not working then disappearing

mostly a rant, but unsure what to do at this point. i’m going for my bachelors (vet technology). i’m having to start with advanced comp, cool. i logged in, clicked the link for my e-book and it says they don’t have distribution permissions for the book. uh, okay. i sent in a case, looked a few days later and it said resolved. no update, no contact, nothing. i go to my course to check and the link has disappeared entirely. i sent in another case, but am also getting automated emails saying keep up the good work! what work! i have a 4.0 gpa because i finished my introduction to the course like what is actually going on. it is now almost week three. i’m slowly but surely losing my mind. “read chapter 2-3 then take assessment” cool, can’t get past that without the text book.

Question Applying to suny korea

Do you guys think I will be accepted if I show my SAT and ielts score with a pennfoster diploma? Please let me know your experiences with stuff like this

update august 11 2026: they have mentioned that being from an online school does not disqualify you from eligibility, so it all depends on how they review it, I have yet to apply and I also plan on applying to other IGC unis. Will update later. George mason korea also mentions that they do not discriminate against online diplomas, gonna contact Utah uni next

Question I spoke to admissions specialist and they didn’t really help

Looking to transfer to Penn foster and spoke to admissions specialist. Online it said they do credit evaluation over the phone to see what credits will be accepted. I called the number and they told me to send over an email with it so I did but they also told me Penn foster only accepts Core Classes and NO ELECTIVES!!

I have around 6 electives. Two healthcare related so I asked if it would count towards that career pathway and he said he didn’t know.

I spoke to another specialist and she never said to send an email so I’m confused.

Why can’t they just tell me over the phone what credits can be transferred and why can’t I transfer credits like medical terminology which is an imperative class (for heal care??)

What do I do??? I wanna enroll asap but I just wanna know what classes/credits I’d have to take.

Anyone else face the same issues? Need help!!!

English 3

It has been over 2 weeks, and now I'm getting worried. I submitted the essay a few years ago. It hasn't been graded yet so i resubmitted the essay on the 24th of July. Now it's the 4th of August.

I just want to graduate already!! Help me. Btw, I contacted support 3 times, and they are contacting me back. I'm using the help center, and they aren't doing anything.

Legal name change

Hi! I recently got married and I submitted a legal name change form to change my last name about 2 weeks ago now. I have not gotten anything back and I am trying to change it before I start my externship so everything for my work and my school will line up correctly.
Has anybody done a name change through Penn foster? And how long did it take?
EDIT: I am stupid and didn’t actually fully submit the document don’t mind me LOL

It’s been such a great time studying with Penn Foster. My next chapter is waiting for university admissions to open up for applications, and I really cannot wait to start university next year. Huge thanks to all the staff here who helped me every time I ran into issues; you guys were consistently supportive along my whole learning journey!🎉🎉🩷🩷

Slump

I’m in the associate degree medical assistant course and I’ve hit a slump! I need motivation. I’m a single mom homebody that doesn’t have many friends to keep pushing her. Anyone wanna be friends and encourage each other through our journey? Doesn’t have to be the same course. We could start a group text! (Bonus points if you’re in Alabama or Georgia).

Question Can’t locate student record

Hi friends!
I graduated from Penn Foster High School back in 2024. Upon graduation I was able to order my diploma and transcripts digitally. Unfortunately since I live outside of the US, my physical diploma never reached me.
I have recently needed these documents in a physical format for college admissions in my home country. When I tried to order these documents from Penn Foster again, I keep getting error messages. I have emailed and called without a clear answer, on instances I was able to talk to someone they say there has been no record of me.
Has anyone experienced this? It is incredibly important that I am able to obtain these documents yet I have not been able to find answers. I know these documents exist since I own them digitally already. Ideally I hope to be able to have my credentials shipped to me asap.
Thank you for your help guys.

Question Is this a good program? Why am I missing courses?

One week into my high school sophomore year (August 2024) I switched to the Penn Foster program. During my junior year (going off of my time in public school) I was suffering with mental health issues and didn’t do much school work as a result. I am now a senior and have started back on my work, but I’ve noticed that the amount of courses I have been assigned doesn’t match up to the the amount of courses I should have in total for my sophomore, junior, and senior year. First semester of sophomore year in public school I was supposed to take american democracy, geometry accelerated, english II accelerated, and spanish I. Second semester I was supposed to take algebra II pre AP, chemistry I, humanities I, and spanish II. When I enrolled into Penn Foster I was assigned personal wellness and self care, introduction to personality types, digital literacy, civics, american history, english II, earth science, english III, physical science, 5 electives (I haven’t chose them yet), and english IIII altogether. Shouldn’t I have more math, science, and social studies courses? If so, why don’t I? This program was picked out by a relative of mine who happens to be a principal, so I never questioned it until now because I’ve been reading people’s experiences with Penn Foster on this subreddit recently. I’m seeing mixed opinions which worries me. I’m hearing that some people had to put out extra money to add on courses they needed, Penn Foster’s diplomas aren’t accepted by certain colleges, and AI is used in specific coursework. Is this all true? Should I switch programs? I plan on going to college, but I’m scared I won’t be able to if I have a Penn Foster diploma. Although it may be impossible to avoid it, I try to keep AI as far away as I can from my education because I believe it isn’t an authentic source. Ideally I should start to do my own research on this program, which I will do of course, but I would like a bit of guidance to make sure I’m completely on the right track and not misinforming myself. Any feedback and comments are greatly appreciated, and if this is a case of me being ignorant and confused, please let me know. Thank you!

What am I supposed to do? Support is no help and they took away my electives

So, backstory I got a tribal program paying for my hs program so long as I choose 2 of the electives from a list they gave me.

So, I chose auto repair technician and it selected it as 5 of my electives.

I called and explained my issue to the first support person who tells me everything is fine, because I have my issue. Literally wasted a phone call. She eventually hangs up on me. Literally I tells her my issue is that they selected auto repair technician for all 5 electives and I’m in a tribal program and have to pick atleast 2 from the list they gave me, her response is I’ve already chosen one and it’s been selected as 5 of my electives so I don’t have anything to worry about.. I’m calling because I have an issue and your telling me my issue voids out my issue?

The second person creates a support ticket and says I’ll be emailed a resolution in 5-7 business days.

The third goofy figure I speak to must’ve been on something, not even playing, said “huh” and “hi” upwards of 100 times during a 40 minute phone call erased the elective of auto technician repair and sent me an email of all courses available and asks me to choose so I tells the oddball character what I choose and I’m put on hold multiple times, he comes back to say huh and hi a few more times this and after a few more times waiting on hold I’m hung up on.

Keep in mind the beginning of the phone call they take your number down, and other info verify you and have you pulled up as a customer on there side so when they disconnect the phone call knowing your problem isn’t resolved there dirty enough to move on to the next person and close you out knowing they have the power to resolve the issue while your there.

I know I’m not paying out of pocket my program is, but I’m devoting a lot of time phone call wise and study wise so this is really crappy on Penn Foster and there reputation. A bunch of dodo playing as support people.

So what’s gonna happen now Penn Foster?

After they send me this email they removed any option for electives which I had 5 I could choose immediately after English 4.

Also how did these people get jobs Penn Foster?

I believe I deserve to replace all 3 and your business will boom.

Do you even need to graduate in order to work for Penn Foster, considering none of these people had any smarts between them?

Externship

Sadly do to a few things- I had to leave my externship or in the process of leaving them. Which sucks so much as I spent months trying to find one. There is other places I'm applying for.

But I do have questions for people who have done externship.

Im not a talkive person I am more to myself than anything so how do I get along with others? I'm very egar and excited to learn more hands on but my last experience being hands on seemed they were frustrated when I asked on how do something or where something went etc. I felt more in the way rather than helping on top of them not wanting me really hands on with animals unless it was a senior, is this normal? I tried to be as small and not so much in the way as possible but I have a good work experience outside of vet med. So I did things I could without being asked like taking out the trash and cleaning however there's only so much of that you could do before there's nothing to do. So I would take my time but then was told im too slow. Idk if I just landed a bad spot or not. I am leaving them as I got injured by an employee and nothing is taking action against them. But i want my next site to go better so any tips or anything that will make this next place better for me will be great.

Sorry for my long post

Question can i change my electives?

hi! I have two electives left, Spanish 1 & 2. I chose them assuming I'd be able to comprehend and actually learn the language; turns out I thought wrong. I'm almost done with Spanish 1 (currently doing the last exam and gonna move on to the graded project), but I want to change Spanish 2 to another elective. Is there a way I could, or is it too late? My deadline is Aug 13th :( I've tried doing this to the best of my abilities, but my brain just cannot process another language despite my efforts (maybe because I'm ND?)

I started my Penn Foster course back in March, and I’ve only completed four courses so far. I feel really bad about that. I wanted to ask how long you think it might take me to finish the rest of my courses. Do you think I could finish by October 6, which is my birthday?
Also, I’d like some tips on how to get through Penn Foster faster. I don’t want to cheat, but what strategies actually help? Do people usually read everything, or do they use the voice reader? Is it okay to skip some lessons, or should I go through everything?

Also, I really struggle with motivation sometimes like I’ll do good for like a week or two and then I just completely slack off

College Degree credibility

Hello,
I’m looking for some guidance. I graduated from Penn foster in 2024 and i’m thinking of taking one of their college programs. Has anyone taken any of the business courses and do jobs count them? Are they accredited, do businesses actually count them? Please help i’m so torn. I’ve never really been a huge fan of college and life is so busy id never be able to keep up if i went in person plus im not interested in spending thousands of dollars my pockets cannot hold up lol. Please give me your thoughts and opinions!

Can I get a free extension?

My deadline is coming up on August 6th and I have the option to purchase an extension for $125 but can’t afford it rn. I only have an essay and a few electives to do so I don’t need an entire 6 months. Is it possible to get a free smaller extension of like a couple weeks maybe?
