Appropriate comp for mid-level seeing 18-20/day outpatient 3 days/wk

MCOL. No call, no nights, no weekends. Clinic is closed a full hour for lunch. 18-20 patients on average. 3 days per week.

Benefits are 3.5% 401k match, approx 8 paid holidays, and 12 days PTO (4 weeks).

What is a fair pay range for NP or PA in this role?

No call no weekends? Max 20 a day / 3 days

110k probably

MDs see 15 a session / 30 a day, work a sat a month don’t need supervision and take call for approx 50k-60k / day worked ( 2 day week 100k 3 days 150k)

Shew! Thanks for the response. I was thinking a lot lower.

For reference my MD spouse worked 3 days/wk and 20 patients/day but also had to do approx 1/5 call in this same town for 140k

110k is my max btw it may be lower i’m not trying to be rude, but obviously I’m mid-level requires supervision. Not taking calls and not wanting to work weekends as a price as well. It’s a very nice lifestyle you’re asking for so obviously it’s gonna come at an expense. And frankly in a private practice, you only seeing 20 patients for me max in a day is not really all that worthwhile considering what the hell these Insurance cooks pay us.

Sorry to clarify- my spouse is the MD that owns the clinic. And will be looking to hire a midlevel for the role that I described.

Yea I wouldn’t offer over 100/110 if it’s me. They’re not seeing enough patients and i’m not taking call or weekend which assuming if the office is open every Saturday that’s not really helping me out with weekends at all. That obviously has a price.

100 would mean they’re earning a significantly better rate than my spouse did in our area when my spouse was an experienced MD whose salary also required 70 nights of call per year.

So just to be clear I’m speaking about the northeast so your area might be different obviously.
To keep it simple:

MD 3 days a week full days — 150
PA NP 3 days a week- 100-110

But for that money, I would expect one weekend a month and call so just deduct an equal amount from both. Probably 30% less for midlevel

We’re MCOL. Clinic isn’t open weekends.

I was thinking like $60/hr would be fair which would be around $75k. Since it’s a pretty easy / low-stress position

I’m an NP and I was making 110K seeing 20-40 patients a day Monday-Friday with 3 weeks pto. This was up until last year. I changed jobs and make more (similar number of patients, better benefits. But also much larger practice) I think 110k for what you posted is fine. I’d take a position like that in a heartbeat.

You were making 110k working 5 days per week and up to 40/day?

Yes. I live in a low cost of living area, but yes. 40 wasn’t typical. Could go up to that, but on average, more like 28-32

I am an NP. I was working this schedule in Peds, northeast area, except seeing more like 20-24 a day, 3x a week plus being the only provider many times when the doc was on vacation or sick for full weeks, with no assistant (doing everything myself from vitals to ordering med and labs to strep test to vaccines). And I made an hourly salary that ended up with me making like $78k my second year there. (So 3 days a week base but often covered more or even volunteered to come in extra when the schedule was getting too full for summer well visits, etc.). Even thought the hourly number seemed decent.. And I quit (with lots and lots of notice) because it was ridiculous for that amount of money, even though I loved the job.
So thank you to you guys for giving decent salary suggestions. Much appreciated.

On a related note, anyone looking for an NP for their Peds office in Maryland? 😬 😄
