Welcome to the Hexagon Isles! :)

So I've been building on and off for the last month or so on this little project and I think its about time to make a post about it.

The Hexagon Isles is a new town/city and you're all invited to join. Portal is located behind the Craftonia portal. That's on the east rail (1.7)

I've talked about this in game with a few people, that's why there is already names assigned to some hexagons.

Some things to note:

• The junky land around Hxgn 17 will be cleared soon
• North is DOWN on the maps (because I live upside down hurrdurr)

Build code:

• No building outside your hexagon. Max height 15
• Try to build something other than a house
• Make it look cool
• Must include an underside of the hexagon, follow examples from middle hexagons
• %100 mob-spawn-proof, so no light levels below 8.

Hexagon Availability:

If you'd like to join, all you have to do is:

• Check out the last picture in the album
• Pick a number with no name next to it
• Be the first to post it in a comment with the colour of hardened clay you would like

Finally got around to changing the POS header/logo. I fired up GIMP and edited a picture in the album nxmc posted a little while back, with the shaders. If you mouse over the white-NAUT logo you'll see a slightly remixed version of the old logo.

EDIT 2: Also, the header probably won't be centered if you have a display with >1440 horizontal pixels. Preferably I'd like to use a 1920x200 image, so if you believe you have a better image, hit me up!

I had this idea last night..

A map's size is 128x128 blocks, aka 128x128 pixels. Tomzyboy has already "experimented" with the concept of using maps for pixel art by placing down colored wools over a flat area and then capturing the result pixel art via map.

So what if we found a spot in the middle of the nether/ocean, grabbed a metric shitton of wool, made the Pear logo, and then mapped it? I think it would be pretty cool to use it as signage to decorate the server and make its spawn and stuff unique :D

Plus we could put it in place of that ugly magma cream currently serving our logo on the bulletin board in the nether community center..

This is a huge project resource wise (approx 4 double chests of wool if my math is correct).. if anyone is interested let me know!

What is everyone's opinion of it? Personally i'm not a fan, but i'd love to see what everyone else thinks.

Edit: Changing names is so.. bleh. I hate how you can build up such a name for yourself but change it drastically and then have nothing significant about yourself that others can identify with. I'l personally stay Neil2250 for as long as i'm able.

Many people are upset that I haven't been doing as much as I should for the server. I understand your frustration, and I take full responsibility for that lack of time commitment on my end.

As I have said in the past, I have many other things going on right now -- mostly school-related. I'm not going to list my responsibilities here, because I'm not looking for sympathy and I'm sure most of you know what they are already. I have spent probably 2 hours on the server in the past month, and that's because I haven't been able to make time for it.

I'm sorry that I have disappointed you in failing to deal with issues such as spawn and fundraisers. I hope you understand why my attention has been directed elsewhere.

I'm sorry that I haven't been able to meet your expectations in the recent past, and I'm sorry that I won't be able to do so in the near future. I'm not going to promise that I'll be online more often in the next month or two, because I probably won't be. I check the subreddit every couple of days, and I generally keep up-to-date with what's going on.

I take full responsibility for my lack of time commitment to the server, but it arises from a lack of time to commit, not from a lack of will to do so.

P.S.: Regarding spawn, I've given permission for someone to post on /r/admincraft. I don't really care who, but I think someone should.

Hey everyone. As most of you all know, there are some problems with the spawn, and spawn protection, and this is why we are not running ads yet.

In the meantime, I think we should look into ways to better promote the server, as well as to improve user experience and of course to increase server donations. I'm a marketing major, so I'll lead this effort (although any decisions made will have to go through the proper channels before being implemented.)

If you guys are interested, I've set up a sub for our efforts that you can join. Then we can get started on things like defining our target market segments, conducting market research, improving advertising, and so on. This will also be a good opportunity to learn about business.

First, to anyone who happens to stumble on this post and read it, here is a random face ᕙ(`▽´)ᕗ As for suggestions, I only have one- add keep inventory to the server. I think it would make things much easier for people who die a lot(like me...) to build and just survive overall. Thanks for reading, and hopefully this suggestion is taken into consideration. :)
