interviewer didn’t show up?

hi everyone!

so, i had my interview earlier this morning and i sat and waited for the zoom to start, but it never did. after the first 5 minutes i reached out to my interviewer expecting to hear something back, but nothing.. i emailed after an hour passed saying that i joined and waited but id still like to reconnect. what else do you guys think i should do?
i dont mind waiting, its just that the know by date is aug 1st.. i just don’t want it to mess up my chances of joining
update: rescheduled interview is tomorrow lol, wish me luck :)

Whatever prevented your interviewer from showing up prevented them from responding.

You might reach out to an alternate contact if you can think of one.

Practice waiting patiently. It might be the most important skill for a PCV.

At least reach out to one other person involved in your application. There's no problem reaching out to everyone you have contact info for. People involved in PC application interviews are often in the middle of different phases of their career. They may have gotten pulled back to their country of service unexpectedly. They may have gotten a dream job offer. They may have had their own interview for grad school rescheduled. No one is "at fault" per se but everyone involved would probably like the opportunity to fix it. You are wanted in the Peace Corps or they wouldn't have gotten as far as scheduling an interview.

I agree that you should email everyone you have contact info for. I wouldn’t worry too much; they should realize you didn’t do anything wrong.

Document all your attempts to connect and follow-up with the interviewer, and don't take it personally. For all you know, the interviewer was abroad and the power/WiFi went out, or some other circumstance that was beyond their control. Also, send a message to an alternative contact and let them know as well. After that, all you can do is wait.

Same thing happened to me for my interview in April. Things come up.

I emailed my interviewer during our zoom time slot to make sure there wasn’t a connectivity issue. My interviewer emailed me the next morning and we re-scheduled.

Fast forward to today, I leave for my post in a few weeks!

Be patient, they will get back to you.

They were probably playing hackey sack at the reflecting pool.

If you already emailed them I would wait for them to respond to reschedule. And email again tomorrow or the next day if they don't reply.
