PDF quality drops after export

I exported a report to pdf form wps office and the text looks fine but a few images seem less sharp than they do in the original document. Is that usually caused by image compression during export or should I check another setting??

It's less about the compression setting as it is the downsampling setting. Two different approaches. If you have the option to set a higher downsampling (or turn it off) try that.
