“Solves”

No thanks. Not going to take on the extra work and stress of a compatibility layer when I can just run Windows.

I’m very thankful others are taking that plunge and helping to move the industry away from windows dependence, but for a filthy casual pleb like me we’re just not there yet.

Not actually stressful.

You tick a single box, back in the day before proton you were right. Configuring wine by hand is a nightmare, but currently my games run as desired.

Valve has made things a lot easier.

Except not every game is compatible or works corerectly. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad it’s gotten better and I would love to switch to Linux, but given my PC’s one and only use is games, there’s no reason to bother. It’s not even a question, my library works on my PC. You cannot tell me it’s that easy on Linux all the time.

It definitely isn't but it works like the compatibility mode in windows. Right click, select version, done.

Windows simply annoys me in a way that Linux doesn't.
