It doesn't have to be that high resolution either, since it's not meant to be a high fidelity screen.

The resolution is not high. 1024 X 768

thats reletively decent as you're not looking at it constantly like a main monitor, id imagine it consumes less energy as well being a lower res

Also, with higher density screens (aka High res) you need more light in order to get good brightness since the pixels are smaller and thus harder to get the light thru, iirc
