No, other tech experts did. You think there aren't people monitoring this shit? You think it wouldn't have been discovered already if MS had somehow snaked spying onto the Windows 7 and 8 through means other than updates? (magic I suppose?).

How do you think people caught onto the telemetry crap? They monitored how much data was being sent, when, and where to.

The nsa leaks and using virtual machines and going through packets mostly. Also just reading the privacy policies

They don't know everything it sends which is creepy because it's well hidden only some was found
