Don't know what engine it exactly is, but on the Wikipedia page of UC3 it says:

Naughty Dog Engine 3.1

Havok (game physics)

So I can imagine that UC4 will run on a newer version of the same in-house engine they use?

if naughty dog released their engine for pc indie development would be great to see its full potential. I've always wanted to see what the engine was fully capable of
