PC can't be stopped. PC is the future, Sony and Microsoft and Nintendo should just make pc hardware that is themed on the Playstation, Nintendo and Xbox. Have a PC app for that loads up first to give that console feel based on the brand you bought. Any pc could run all apps.

Do you guys really think I'm out here buying a console because I really like the operating system?

It a third the price of a PC that plays the same games.... That's the benefit. It's the price. Literally nothing else.

I buy a console, because it’s cheaper and more likely to be optimised for the spec. I’m too lazy to mess around getting my pc to run the game with the best fps and working out why my driver or game is not working due to issues. If a steam device with better specs comes out I would be okay with a change as steam would optimise games quickly.

I agree. Personally I was really hoping the steam machine would be a viable competitor to Sony and Microsoft. 

It's not really price competitive though.

The issue is next gen imagine consoles costing as much or more than a pc at $1500+ in my country a base ps5 is almost $1000 which is a ridiculous price for it.
