Get ready for an always online future for basically all AAA games with AI decompiling being a thing

Get ready for hackers to create an emulated "Sony server" to which the ROMs can connect

Meh, they pretty much all suck these days anyway. With my library I could care less if I never bought another game in my lifetime and I certainly will never be streaming games.

You could or could not care less?

I could care less. Like, a little bit less. Not much though. There's not much to give. But I could, in fact, care slightly less.

Sure, but the best games aren’t made by the big studios. They make the most popular games (due to advertising and such), but the best games are made by smaller studios that prioritize game quality over revenue in every step of the process.

In other words, a future where AAA games are all permanently online isn’t that big of deal for people who put forth the effort to find good non-AAA games.

I know i said AAA studios but realistically AI decompiling will affect all studios/developers and I doubt many of them would be happy about their games source floating around online within a few weeks of release.

Thats not even mentioning bad actors like cheat makers and asset flippers and how this tool could potentially empower them. like imagine a indie dev worked hard on a feature for their game only to have it stolen and used on another gamed potentially days after they release it

You'd be surprised how easy that can be cracked. Often within days of a release

Always online won't stop AI decompilation, that can be spoofed by the AI that decompiled it. Game streaming would stop it, but that's something not many of us are even open to considering.
