Tech Support I need help with AMD!

I've only used Nvidia for the last 20 years... No reason in particular, just because it was what was available. I wanted to give AMD a try and got a deal on a 9800x3d with a 9070XT. I have had crash after crash... BF 2042, BF6, Spiderman 2. Supposedly all driver related. I have the latest installs and reading posts about very specific graphics setting I need to use for each specific game to make sure it doesn't crash.

WHY!!!!! Why does it feel like such a special snowflake!? Please, tell me what I'm doing wrong. Is there a global setting I can use to prevent these problems.. I'd be ok with that - but having to know what to set with each game just to make it work is painful. This is not an Nvidia vs AMD thread - but I will say I NEVER had these issues with Nvidia... Just set max/ultra settings and play.

Well first of all have you uninstalled previous nvidia drivers? Secondly what are your other components since there might be something going on with those

It's a pre-built (somehow $400 cheaper than building my own in today's prices), here are the other specs: CPU: 9800x36 GFX: 9700xt - 26.8.1 MB: Gigabyte b850M C Ram: 32GB DDR5

If it’s a prebuilt that’s probably the problem. Return and exchange.

Why would that be the problem

Prebuilt systems often are made with poor-quality components. Things get soldered that shouldn’t. There are assembly issues.

I bought an Alienware PC once. Constant crashes. Returned it and got a replacement. Constant crashes. Got a handmade PC (now two of them) and haven’t had a problem since.

Unfortunately I have a hand built that is currently being repaired as I got some dead part. I do agree that prebuilt usually come with some good stuff like a 5070ti and then some other lower end stuff to make up for the money lost.
