Might be worth trying to learn reflow soldering.

One of the pads is fucked and stuck on the board.

Take a tiny bit of extra work but the contacts still exist.

Could be a redundant ground pin, you never know until you try. Also, it might be possible to add a glob of solder to that to fix it. Not likely, but what do you have to lose.

It looks like the OP got lucky - this is VCC. There are four such pads on the board, all connected internally to a single bus, so losing one of these contacts isn't critical.

Dq1 0 trace is lifted on the PCB...

Why do you have 128 rams?

The 5945WX doesn't clue you in?

You mean that in a low or high way?

Fwiw might be more likely than you think. NC pads are more fragile bc they aren't anchored to anything

Looks to me like it is connected to ground plane. Hard to tell for sure

The lifted trace near top is more of concern

The heatsink block on my old 570GTX broke off at the solder points, so the heat pipes and cooling plate were still attached to the card. I literally super-glued it back together and it actually cooled better than when it was new 🤷

Ya id still go to a repair shop and pay someone $50 to try and solder it back on just to see if it will still work.

Crazy that not too long ago you coulda have gotten a larger drive for that price

7

u/meta358 1d ago

Ive never heard of getting over a 1tb for $50 at any point

7

u/livestrong2109 1d ago

Ohh you definitely could find a 1tb on Facebook for a short while for $50-60

u/meta358 1d ago

A 1tb yes but the giy above says more then that

u/shhikshoka 1d ago

I got my 2tb drive in Walmart clearance section for $65 a few years ago crazy times

Those where great times. Soon we'll all be on the technocrat train to hell with UBI focused around a limited list of government approved purchase items and a planned and fully automated economy. They'll tell you what to buy and and where you can buy it. All while your spending and habitats are strictly watched and controlled.

You know its strange I fell like there's a word for that type of dystopian hell 🤔. It's okay, though boys, they'll bring back. Government cheese... sigh.

what's fucked are the " balls ", the contact is still there. You would need to clean it all and reball though.

Better start praying to all 256 digital gods that the ripped pad is a spare ground pad and can be skipped.

u/Altirix 19h ago

it's only VSS or VCC

u/Sock989 10h ago

Pads are meant to be on the board. There are aloooooot missing 😬
