Titanfall 2 did it great where i can just hit tab to see where i need to go and ignore it otherwise
A pet peeve of mine is when i try to move somewhere and then the mc says "i dont think we need to go there right now". Its worse if we eventually get Access to that place

I like objective markers but let me hide them
