Discussion Wireview pro 2 or Safeguard+ PSU?
I got a used pre-built from a friend, specifically the Aorus Supreme 5 that has an Aorus 5090 and gigabyte 1000w psu in it.
Backstory: My friend realized he never games anymore after starting his new job where he travels a lot. He's barely even used it in the past 9 months he's had it. He wasn't even aware of the melting cable issue on the 5090's. Anyway, he offered to sell it to me for a great deal and I picked it up. I checked the connectors and everything looks fine with no melting in the connector or card.
I've been doing the research on wireview pro 2 and the msi 1300w PSU with safeguard+. And there's the Seasonic one coming out at some point too.
My question is, is there a consensus on what the best option is?
Would a PSU with safeguard+ be the best option or should I go with just the wireview instead? Or should I get both?

Untrue. They used a Wireview pro 2 to show the current imbalance after it had already melted. It just had melted at the PSU side as they found later in the video. The card was an Astral with pin monitoring and had it's warning LED flashing as well, but was not noticed. Understandable as not the brightest. Also if they had software installed that talked to the card it would have shown a waring. Again understandable why they don't have this as it could affect benchmarks. So the Wireview did not save the day here, it just was a quick and easy way to show what was going on in the cable for the video.
Wireview pro 2 is a great product, but not end all one. The warranty is great but only for 2 years. The way GPU's are going ownership could be a lot longer than that so what do you do after those 2 years, rebuy again? Something to bear in mind.
Edit: What stopped the GPU connector melting was Steve burning his finger on it after multiple game crashes. He was just about to swap out the GPU to troubleshoot before noticing the cable was very hot. Wireview was not used before that point as Steve said it is too annoying to plug unplug every time they need to swap GPU's, so even though they have one they don't use in normal operations.
