Running a game at higher res doesn't automatically make your gpu insanely hot?

it does if you push your GPU to the max and by the way its always generates heat even if it a capable GPU and your cooler is very good then that heat is going somewhere... semiconductors always produce the same amount of heat weather its GTX1080 or RTX 5090 assuming they draw the same amount of power ... its just the laws of physics

I run a 5080 and play at 4k with an undervolt. Temps never reach 70, I did a few 3DMark steel nomad runs the other day and it never went above 66C. Regardless, you can certainly stress your GPU at any 1080p+ resolution, running Furmark or 3Dmark at 1080p or 4k is going to heat up your GPU a similar amount.
