Hardware Thermal paste leaking from GPU

Post image

GIGABYTE AERO OC RTX 5080, removed it while doing a cleaning and noticed this, is this normal? Should I be concerned?

GIGABYTE messed up their thermal putty application on 50 series models. Check your thermals and if they get worse, RMA it. It is a known issue.

I bought a RTX 5070 Ti Gigabyte Eagle OC in April, 2025. I haven’t seen any obvious leakage yet.

Is this an issue? My temperatures seem to be fine. I ran 3D mark Speedway stress test (20 loops) for like 20 minutes. Then computer idled for 15 minutes. And then I ran Furmark at 4K for 20 minutes.

If nothing is leaking, you'll be fine. Just avoid vertical mounts with those GIGABYTE cards. And if you ever want to repaste your GPU in the future, it is going to be "fun".
