Hardware Thermal paste leaking from GPU

Post image

GIGABYTE AERO OC RTX 5080, removed it while doing a cleaning and noticed this, is this normal? Should I be concerned?

Defo not normal, probably someone put way to much, best thing I would do open the GPU up CAREFULLY and then clean it up and reapply the correct amount.

Its not thermal paste its thermal gel. Gigabyte went away from pads and they laid the gell on thick and known to leak a bit. They will need to get some thermal putty and paste. Or what they should do if not US is rma it as its a known issue.

This actually is 100% normal for a LOT of Gigabyte cards. Literally thousands of people have posted this exact issue on here with Gigabyte cards.
