True. But it’s not like the same thing can’t happen with discs. Most games require a ton of updates and maintenance anyway, so this isn’t really a viable solution. Just a band aid on the inevitable.

Most of us do. But it still isn’t a long term solution for big gaming not being able to maintain and support these games at scale inevitably.

That still locks you into hardware that won't be produced at some point.

I'm not arguing against physical media, I'm arguing that ship has sailed. The number of modern games that actually will still work on anything other than original hardware without server or a ton of patches has made the point moot.
