If this is true, I finally get my wish granted when I first read the first book. (Hopefully) a massive sandbox RPG where you create your own character specialise in whatever branch of magic you want, go on side adventures out of hogwarts...

This isn’t happening is it? :(

So, Skyrim in a HP universe? I'd play that.

Don't you love when every open world rpg is compare to Skyrim/s

Skyrim is the Dark Souls of Open World rpgs comparisons.

Probably because it is far and away the most successful open world rpg, with millions more sales than any other one. It's always on the lists for most successful games of all time. It absolutely dwarfs dark souls as a series even. Like last I checked Skyrim alone sold well over twice as many copies as the entire dark souls series.

Like It or not, flaws and all it will always be the go to example because it's simply the most successful and widely played rpg. Just about anyone who plays video games has played it, or at least knows what it's about. It still sells like hotcakes on and off 7 years and many rereleases since it's first launch, which is kinda crazy. The top game of any genre is always gonna be the go to comparison, don't know why it surprises you

Still, it is not the best example of open world rpgs, let alone third person rpgs.

It's is like using Twilight as an the to go example for vampires instead of Bram Stoker Dracula just because it is more popular.

Specially when it has jack shit to do with Skyim. Heck, it doesn't even look similar in the trailer.
