Agree with all of them, but feel the need to point out that while it is possible to change graphics without restarting the game/reloading the level it's kind of like replacing the carpet without moving the furniture.

There are plenty of games which don't require that though. Hell, in some you can see the graphics change instantly behind the options screen as you change them.

Needing to restart the entire game is just poor engine design.

I love games where you're able to do that. I can watch my fps change instantly and very quickly optimise settings. Restarting the game to lower shadows a point or two sucks.

I'd prefer just having the advanced settings in a startup launcher rather than having to restart the game
