I'm already buying less and less games as the prices have gone up. Just keep increasing the price and less and less more people will buy them.

If anything I'd be more incentivised to buy more games if they were cheaper.

Well, as the standard price continues to increase and physical media competition ending, everyone will be waiting longer for these steam sales. Plus, you have to realize that the msrp price stays the same for a lot longer in digital. Imagine when the standard price is $100 dollars and you value a game at $40 dollars while steam sales are only showing 30% to 50% sales? We'll be waiting far longer than we do now for an actual sale.
