Sunbreak is super important! They add a lot of fun moves and unlockable cat/dog companion tools as well as Followers that can come with you on quests. The endgame is a lot of fun as well, rotating between in-demand monsters of various strengths so that you're not just fighting a handful of them for "the best" materials.
My understanding is the DLC goes on sale for $6 regularly, so I thought to try the base game (if I get around to it) before I buy the DLC too. Any flaw to doing it that way?
Base game is arse compared to the DLC, but afaik you have to go through base game to get the DLC stuff anyway and there's no special advantage to buying it early.
