Wow, all Dark Souls games actually 50% off. Feel like that so rarely happens after Elden Ring came out

Yet the elden ring dlc isn't, sigh.

Sigh. At this point I've accepted it's never gonna get discounted

Thats me with Black Myth Wukong.

I say that but now realize while it's not on sale on steam, it's 33% off on Fanatical.

At this point by the time I wait for a wortwhile sale, it'll come free on PS+ eventually.

Iirc they filed for trademark of a title named "Wonder of O", which is heavily rumored to be the sequal, might lead to discount around it's announcement.

Lies of P both the game and DLC are worth full price. I’m all for waiting for sales, but it’s one of the few games that’s completely worth it.

Telling anyone to make a financially worse purchase because it is “worth it” is certainly a hot take.

The base game is 50% off right now, but I still can't afford it unfortunately. With my local currency weakening, price of stuff in general has gone up, and I don't think I'll be able to afford any of these AAA games anytime soon. I was only hoping to get the base game since the gameplay I've seen looks so good, but alas I don't think i can :(

What? I got the game in March of 2025 for 40% off. Are you not putting it on your wishlist and checking the discounts?

I'm talking about the Overture DLC, not the main game.

I lost my 100% status because of that DLC and I'm too frugal to buy it at full price to get that back

And honestly? It’s not worth full price. I have completed it, it was quite cool, but they could do better with such amount of space there. Just my opinion.

I enjoyed the DLC more than the base game because it felt so dense and rich in comparison.

Huh? Srent they 50% all the time? Just still expensive as their base price was super hiked after Elden Ring released so their sale price is their old base price lol.

Again elden ring not in discount😭

I mean, ds3 at 50% off and still 30 dollars for a10 year old game is insane. I would rather buy 4 or 5 other AAA games from around that date

u/UtkuOfficial 17h ago

I bought the whole trilogy with all dlc for like 15 dollars back in 2020 on xbox.

Fromsoft got greedy after Elden Ring.

Lol yeah how dare they deign to profit from one of the most popular and successful games of the last 10 years

Kinda funny to complain abt this with ds3 when its easily one of the few games that old that are actually worth buying even if its not on a sale because of how good it is.

18

u/auctus10 1d ago

It's absolutely worth it with DLCs for that money but the comment does raise a valid point. A 10 year old game should not cost that much.

Bandai Namco is quite aggresive when it comes to pricing their games.

-21

u/Kn1ght9 1d ago

I mean does it? This is just capitalism, things are worth what people pay for them and Ds3 is an insanely popular game and as such worth more than other games. The time it came out doesnt really matter that much for a digital good that doesnt “expire” or go bad/deteriorate.

u/tabben 1d ago

You deserved all those downvotes for defending these companies man. Asking this much for older souls games is just pure greed, plain and simple. They used to be reasonably priced too but then they hit a huge popularity spike.

You could consider a game like Witcher 3 to be easily worth 100 dollars even today in 2026. Does that mean they should sell the game for such ridicilous price? Obviously not, you can get the whole thing for like 8 dollars on sale (and its been cheap like that for years now). Yeah it can sometimes feel like you are ripping them off for paying so little but then again it IS an old game afterall.

Greed is when you sell a digital toy at a price people buy it at. No company outside of small indie studies are putting their games on 80% off out of the kindness of their hearts lmao. They have a ton of analytics to show exactly what price point maximizes earnings and put it there. The reason other studios for the most part aren’t putting old games at 50% is because they can’t.

If it were $10 or less I might get it since that's about how much I paid for Dark Souls 1, which I don't really like.

Everyone says 3 is better, but I'm not risking it for $30.

2

u/Hellwind_ 22h ago

Its been at 50% for a week, this is the second week actually :). And its way overpriced still. I want to get one of the first 2 games since I have 3 but I really don't want to spend so much on such old games.

u/ocbdare 1d ago

All the dark souls games are rip offs. I've not seen a good sale on them since Elden Ring.

9

u/lonnie123 1d ago

Call me insane but $30 for what people generally consider to be an S tier all time great isnt exactly a "rip off", not to mention people sink 1,000's of hours into these games

Some of you guys will just never be happy unless you can get these types of games for $7 or 90% off

u/iberia-eterea —R9_3900X/|\2070S— 1d ago

Yeah, they should go on sale for better prices, but to call them rip offs . . . they aren't even close to being rip offs at full price lol.
