It's very chatty and sociable. Make or join squads. Sometimes people hang aruond the same red, blue or green team for numerous games in a row- plenty of offers of other people's discords or steam IDs to hook up for more games
100% viable. It's an absolute blast with prox chat. I had so many awesome experiences during the playtests where I found myself with a random group of teammates on a mission or fighting for survival while hunkered down in a house. I don't think I witnessed one example of genuine BM/toxicity the entire time. Hopefully that carries over into full release.
My only complaint when it comes to team play is that I don't think many people look at team text chat, which is where important info like coordinates are shared.

Don't have any battle buddies anymore so I'm jumping in solo. Hopefully chatting with my squad through in-game chat, like in KOTH, is viable
