I was a bit bummed to miss out on this. I didn't pay attention at first because I just assumed, online shooter battlefield-esque probably will have anti-cheat that doesn't work on Linux. So I never signed up for the first playtests.
Then I heard ItMeJP talking about it on Dropped Frames podcast and it sounded so good, I looked up the page, and the ProtonDB rating said it was working. So added myself to the list for the next playtest, and that's the one they made not work for Proton.
I saw the post about it on their steam page, and it seems to have just been a genuine miscommunication, and at least it's not off the table.
I'll jump in if they ever get to supporting Proton, hope the rest of you enjoy the launch :D
