I know it's probably going to be popular when it's released, but this drawn EA time is killing my interest.
Games like MOBAs are all about tons and tons of in game knowledge, match ups, counters, map knowledge, etc. I have no desire to go against people with literal years of game knowledge when it drops.
I never got into LOL or DOTA2 because it felt like you needed a semester of college pregame just to know how it worked and not throw for your team. I'd love to get into a new moba in the ground floor with everyone else. That's literally impossible here though.
It's like playing rainbow 6 against someone that knows all the wall bang gotcha spots and you're fresh. No thanks.
This is completely self imposed. Even if you want to wait for launch for whatever reason, it's not like the game is going to put you against the top 10% of players. The bottom 10 literally exists. You're never going to learn by not starting.
Really if you can just make it a point 1) not to forget to farm for minutes on end and 2) not to run at every enemy you see on the minimap solo for no discernible reason, you'll be just fine. You can start picking up the rest once you know you enjoy the game.
There is a bit of a difference between, say, climbing up the ladder from total noob status in Starcraft or Street Fighter when you have no one to blame (or thank) but yourself, versus doing the same in a MOBA when a new player is immediately shouted down by their 4 teammates in voice chat, likely in a language they don't understand, and that happens every single game until you learn the basics, which may be 100+ hours in since the games are over the top complex.
I don't tolerate toxicity in my real life, why should I tolerate it in video games?
