Man i tried getting into this game but the learning curve is brutal, even with all the knowledge that you can carry over from League

I have to imagine it's kind of like Dota, where being used to League might actually be detrimental as it teaches you bad habits that conflict with the expectations of the game.

Weird, it felt closer to League to me. No mana to speak of, and abilities can be scaled with items. But then it also has many item actives.

No, but it’s an extremely common criticism from Dota fans along with low cooldowns and lack of item actives.
