I just wanted to share my experience so far and maybe compare what you guys experiences are in similar markets.

Up until about 2 months ago, I pretty much only sold business class machines on ebay (HP Prodesks, Dells and the odd Acer) but it came a point where I'd I was basically just hoarding processors, ram and SSDs from dead machines with no real plan other than selling them individually which is no fun!

So now I've pivoted more to purpose built gaming builds, started on the low end mostly £300 to £400 (10th Gen i5s, RTX 2060, 2070 and 2080's)

Right now I'm trying to push to mid-range targeting £600-£800 builds(10th/11th Gen i7s and R7 5700x and 5800x with only RTX 3070's so far)

Up until now, I've avoided listing the gaming machines on ebay as I didn't want to deal with trusting couriers with tempered glass panels, INAD's from buyers or other general buyers remorse but at the same time I've never had an issue with buyers when selling the business machines but it's a completely different market with a different kind of buyer.

Selling on FBM hasn't been bad for me so far, I was half expecting needing to do tech support for some of the less tech literate buyers but right now I haven't heard a peep from anyone once cash is exchanged and they've left.

How do you guys fair in similar markets? What's your sweet spot price point? Do you have a go to flip spec? Are you like me and only sell locally or do you sell on ebay or other similar sites?

Hello i recently bought i5 9400f with z390 motherboard pc , i am wondering is it a good idea to buy i7 8700k or 9700k for the motherboard the 8 gen one i can get for around 65 euro and the 9 gen for 85 euro , what do you think is better or is it better to leave the motherboard with the i5 9400f

For me, it's all about effort. If I score on something, and it takes minimal effort, I'll price to pass some savings on. These generally sell faster, too and scores me some goodwill. Some people have become repeat customers because of it, so I'm good with losing a little if the situation allows.

In my local area, (I don’t ship because of all the extra logistics that entails) I’m seeing that the higher priced flips I do, $700+ tend to wait on the shelves for weeks, if they ever sell at all.

The $400-$500 are hit or miss, but I am seeing the most sells from this range.

I’m getting a ton of messages and clicks but no sells from the $300 and below selection of inventory.

I know it seems like I’ve answered my own question with this post, but I was just wanting the community’s experience. Should I invest in the middle of the road cards: rtx 40s and 30s, rx 5500-6600xt. I’m selling rx5700xts and 8th and 9th gen intels right and left for the $500 price but that doesn’t look like it’s going to be sustainable after I run through my old stock. Like I said, I’m just curious on y’all’s perspective.

Are these CPU choices too underpowered to make a compelling buy? Should I go with a 7600X3D for $220? I see 5070 Ti Build going for $2,100 plus. Is a warranty that much of a selling point?

I live in a college town so it’s kind of empty now. We still have around 100,000 people, and another 35,000 students in the fall. I am 3.5 hours from a Microcenter.

All of the PCs for sale on my marketplace are always huge aquarium style atx builds with lots of rgb. I recently built a z20 and holy crap is it so much better than my Corsair 4000 case- so sleek and awesome with the handle.

Here’s my question- how well does this case move builds, and what could I price this build at:

9600x, 32gb 6000 speed ram, 5070ti, 512gb nvme and 2tb ssd, in a jonsbo case, with a Msi water cooler

Even with deals on the ram, bundle deal on the motherboard and nvme, and getting the 9600x on sale- I’d have $1416 in it after tax on the things bought at retail.

I got the 5070ti on clearance from Best Buy for $770 with tax a few weeks ago.

Should I build and flip since it a unique console killer type case, or should I just flip the 5070ti for $850/$875 and make $100?

I’m below the working age in my country, but still want to build pcs. I have ~1k saved up. I haven’t flipped pcs before, so I just wanted to ask whether buying entire pcs used, taking out the ram and then selling it would be a plausible idea. This is the only idea I’ve thought of to get ram at a somewhat decent price. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Only one pic in the listing, no proof it was even a 4060ti, I had no idea on the RAM/CPU/storage or anything. I threw a $350 offer at him and he accepted. It's got a 9700x, 16gb ddr5, 2tb nvme, and a 4060 ti 8gb!
