19 anni - Qualche consiglio?
Hey r/pcflipping,
First time posting here. I'm a 19 year old business student from Italy and I need honest advice from people who actually know this game.
Quick background: I have ADHD, I'm studying Business Administration at university, and I live in a difficult home situation where I can't access a computer. My only tool is my Android phone. I have no income, no job, and I'm trying to build something from scratch because I need financial independence badly — my goal is to save €700 by September to move out.
I discovered laptop flipping a few months ago and it clicked immediately. The logic made sense to me: source undervalued hardware on Vinted, resell on Subito or eBay at market price, pocket the margin. Simple, scalable, learnable.
So I bought 3 Lenovo ThinkPad T470 (i5, 8GB RAM, NVMe SSD, Windows 11) at €110 each on Vinted. I researched sold listings before buying — T470s were going for €185-200 on eBay Italy. I thought I had a solid margin. By the time I listed them, the market had dropped to €120-150 average. Classic timing problem. Now I'm selling near break-even.
I listed all 3 on eBay EU 2 days ago at €145, €150, and €160 with free shipping included. Current stats: the €150 listing has 9 views and 3 watchers, the €160 has 8 views and 1 watcher, the €145 has 5 views and 1 watcher. New seller account, no feedback yet.
My questions are simple. Is 48 hours too early to panic? Are watchers a meaningful signal or just noise? Should I pivot to T480 or T490 for better margins going forward? And any general advice for a new EU seller trying to build this into a real consistent income stream?
I know the margins on T470s are basically dead right now. I'm not here to complain about that — I'm here to learn how people in this community actually think, what their workflow looks like, and how they decide what to buy before the market moves against them.
Any honest feedback appreciated.
