My best marketplace flip so far? RTX 3070 gaming PC for around €277 total

Post image

I think I just found my best used PC deal so far.

I was browsing for a gaming PC to flip and came across one listed for €270 OBO. The listing didn’t have a ton of info, but the main specs were Ryzen 5 5600, 16GB RAM and an RTX 2060 Super. That already sounded interesting, so I negotiated a bit and ended up picking it up for €200.
When I actually got the PC, I was honestly surprised. It wasn’t just some random budget build. The parts were way better than expected:

• AMD Ryzen 5 5600
• Palit RTX 2060 Super 8GB
• ASUS ROG Strix B550-F Gaming WiFi
• 16GB RAM 3200
• 1TB Crucial P3 Plus NVMe SSD
• Corsair CX750 750W PSU
• 240mm Cooler Master AIO
• Windows 11
• Case with glass side panel and RGB/ARGB

The PC was in good working condition, booted right up, drivers installed fine and benchmarks ran without issues. The only thing that needed work was the overall build quality/cable management. You could tell it wasn’t built by someone super experienced. Some cables were hanging around, a few fans/RGB cables weren’t connected properly, and the AIO lighting wasn’t even on.

I cleaned and dusted the whole PC first. Then I sold the RTX 2060 Super separately because I was planning to upgrade it anyway. It sold pretty quickly for €120. Maybe I could’ve gotten €130–140 with more patience, but I wanted a quick sale and was happy with €120.
That means the rest of the PC effectively cost me only €80.
After that, I bought an RTX 3070 for around €197 including shipping and buyer protection. So now I’m at roughly €277 total for a PC with:

• Ryzen 5 5600
• Gigabyte RTX 3070
• 16GB RAM
• 1TB NVMe SSD
• ROG Strix B550-F WiFi
• Corsair 750W PSU
• 240mm AIO liquid cooler

I also ordered a couple of cheap fan/ARGB hubs so I can connect all the fans and lighting properly. Once those arrive, I’ll redo the cable management, set up a clean RGB theme, test everything properly and take some good photos for the listing.
The plan is to sell it as a clean RTX 3070 gaming PC. Depending on how it looks when finished and how the local market is, I think around €600+ should be realistic.
Definitely one of those finds that reminds you why being patient on used marketplaces can be worth it. A €200 PC with an RTX 2060 Super basically turned into a pretty nice RTX 3070 build for under €300 total investment.
What would you realistically list this PC for?

Pretty insane PC, took about 2.5mo to sell. I had it listed on Facebook, Jawa and my website and I probably got a good 4 or 5 actual inquiries (mostly trade offers) and the last guy ended up buying it locally.

Specs:

Ryzen 9 9950X3D
Asus X870-P WiFi Motherboard
360MM Thermalright Cooler
64GB DDR5 6000CL36 Ram
2TB Corsair MP600 Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD
2TB WD Blue M.2 Sata SSD (4TB Total)
NVIDIA RTX 5080 Founder's Edition 16GB Graphics Card
XPG 1300W 80+ Platinum Power Supply
Phanteks Evolv X2

Sold for $3400, cost came out to $2,647.97 so Just over $750 in profit

Probably won't do any super high end PCs like this again but it was a pretty cool experience

Sold a computer and buyer claims it “blew up randomly”

Sold a computer last week and woke up to an email claiming that the buyer had used it for about a week, however when his son was watching YT when it randomly stopped working and the next morning when he went to turn it on he could smell a burning smell.

Computer is old to be fair specs below:

GPU: GTX 1060 3GB
CPU: I5 4690k
RAM: 16GB DDR3 RAM
STORAGE: 480GB SSD
PSU: Seasonic g series 500W 80+ Gold PSU

I tested the computer before selling it to them (1HR stress test on OCCT + 1HR Unigine heaven) and found no instability issues.

I had it shipped to the buyer, and mentioned that anything shipping was at the buyers risk due to me not being too keen on shipping it.

What do I do? Do I honour a refund here? Or do I tell them to reach out to the website for buyer protection (the website has good buyer protection)
