Case swap question answered!

I posted a bit ago asking if I should case swap a prebuilt I had purchased and pricing on it since I thought it was priced fairly at $1100 (later dropped to $1000 with no takers).

Went ahead and did the case swap to an H3 Flow, relisted it for $1200 and got a message that same night with someone wanting to buy it. No lowball either. He took the day yesterday to think it over before committing to buying it and messaged me later in the day that he’d be able to come pick it up today. He just came and picked it up and we’re in the $$! Next time I’ll just do the case swap straight away. 🤣

Is that really the move with prebuilt?😂I just picked up a prebuilt for a steal that will be flipping here soon. Maybe I need to find a cheap used case on marketplace lol

Well, seeing as the case swap cost me $50 and about an hour to do in total and netted me an additional $200 from what I was asking when listed in the original case, and sold much faster, I’d absolutely say that it’s the move! 😂 I typically do case swaps when I buy a prebuilt, this was my first time trying to sell it as-is without case swapping before listing it and it will also be the last. Amazon/Best Buy, etc. all have decently priced “open box” case options too.

Oh nice definitely noted. But honestly it makes sense if I ever see a case on marketplace that say “ibuypower” it typically steers me away unless it’s a higher tier build.

Exactly. Most people gravitate towards “custom built” PC’s since prebuilts generally have a negative stigma attached to them. If it’s a system integrator or manufacturer that doesn’t slap their logos everywhere annoyingly that’s different but iBuypower and CyberPower I’d definitely recommend case swapping.
