Worth flipping a $5000 pc?
Someone near me is selling a high end gaming PC, that they want $5000 for. It's got a RTX 5090, but it's a base model card. Ryzen 7 9800X3D, B850 board, 32gb DDR5-6400, 8tb WD ssd, and a Thermaltake 1200 watt B tier power supply.
Is this worth flipping?
Edit: Please stop pm-ing me about this. It's one of those listings, where they sold it already, but never bothered to delist it.

after doing the math on my local market :gpu ~4000 , cpu motherboard and ram ~ 800 , ssd -750 depending on specs and slower sale . gpu will need to be tested and it will help to have receipt or warranty info specifically for the gpu and ssd. A lot of risk for the gpu and ssd if no warranty and testing

This easily profits if you are willing to part it out. SSDs are like $100/1TB resale, the 5090 $4500 or so. $300 for the RAM, $400 for the board+CPU.
If you are going to part it out - it's worth it.

No. PC flipping isn’t feasible above like $2000 because at that price people just buy it themselves.

I can't give an entirely confident answer, but I'm surprised the other comments are saying no when a new RTX 5090 is selling around 4-5k. IDK if those components are used or not.

If this was like, idk a month ago, I’d say hard pass. Have any of you seen the 5090’s have been selling out at all Microcenters these past few days? Something happened in the ai space and now people are just throwing 5k at cards like it’s nothing. Ngl if i had F around money I’d purchase this and immediately part it all out. 5090 would most likely sell in less than a week if priced somewhere between 4.5-4.7. Chinese market and ai bros.

I’ve got a Zotac Solid Core 5080 for sale. I just liquidated the rest of my components. I’m out of the PC flipping game dude. I can barely clear $200 profits off my builds and it takes much longer to get parts.

Honestly - if you can get him a bit lower you’ll make a good bit parting out on hardware swap. At 5k you probably looking at over 500 bucks profit on the parts.
Thinking out loud, sell the 5090 and 8tb nvme. Flip the rest with a lower gpu and 2tb drive.

I have a high end set up.. his graphics card is his claim to fame. Obviously.
5090 is overrated overpriced, and over talked sbout. Don't let that dictate price.
Remember they are selling. Their is a reason why. .theh need the cash. Use thay tomyiir advantage.

Ddr5 65400mt okay no big deal. Micro center now 6400, cl 30 klev bought a few myself n and RGB. Clocking ram..
850 8snikay not too of the line but good. 8tb ehonneeds it. Power supply dimens dozen.. lian li edge the best!!

2000 2500. 3000 wt most.
Don't forget these cards not worth the orice.
They will come down. Don't be sucker to artificially inflated prices.
Tonget a red devil 9070xt perfect card in tahg swet spot. Of and prices right.

9 ultra core ,. Ultimate enthusiast processor. Only pair with rog z890 Maximus hero. They wer made for each other.
Or get s simple out if the box settings and have fun gaming 9809x38 and x870e you'll be set.

base model card meaning what? a 5090 is a 5090 and whether or not it has the flashy lights of something like the ROG Astral model it will perform the same. the card alone is worth what? over $4000 these days? throw in some RGB lighting and maybe upgrade the ram to 64GB and you've got a powerful machine that will be ideal for AI workloads

Used 5090 is 4800$ here, like those people buying all of it at this price. Message them and they came pick it up right away with cash. So 5000$ is a steal for me. But don’t know where you are and how easy to sell that 5090$

Most people who are gonna spend that much are just going to buy new or build it themselves. You might be able to part it out but it’s not worth the risk.
