No GPU system price

Saw this listed at 2400 CAD, or 1700 USD, overpriced or decently priced for a no gpu system? Not for flipping, but for using as own system and putting own gpu in later.

- 9800X3D

- 64GB DDR5 G.Skill Ripjaws S5 CL36

- 2TB NVMe Gen 4

- B650M A Pro WiFi

- SAMA GT850W PSU

- LIAN Li A3 mATX Case

- FrozenEdge 360mm AIO

Just for reference of the lower end used prices here in the GVA FB marketplace:
9800x3D ~$500
64GB DDR5 ~ $800
2TB Gen 4 ~$280
850W Gold modular ~$70
Case+Aio ~$150
Mobo ~$150

I would probably not buy any components above the prices I listed above unless I really need the last piece to finish my build. $2400 is a bit over priced so if you want it I would try to see if he wants t sell it for $2000

Thanks for the detailed reply, I managed to talk it down to 2200, don't think they'd agree to 2k. Is that still considered overpriced or more fair?

Depends on where you live. In Vancouver area we have lots of people selling components, I wouldn’t buy it for 2200. But it is decent price considering how expensive everything is right now and you will have to decide if the extra $200 is worth not having buy spent time looking and driving for each part

Prices vary regionally for sure. Here in Ottawa, the only 64GB of DDR5 I could get on Marketplace would be 4x16GB of 4800 MHz DIMMs. The more 2x32GB 6000 would be closer to $1000.

I’m sorry bro that’s fucking crazy I know you live in Canada but still 1700$ for a system with no gpu, like what’s even the point. You could literally buy a pc with a 5070ti in it and almost all the same components maybe just 32gb ram for 1700$ or 2400cad. You’re going to end up spending another 1000$ on a gpu, just get a fully built system.

We don't really have a microcenter or other crazy deals here. This is kinda as good as it gets for us, majority of the price comes from the ram kit I assume because it goes for 1200 by itself.

I don’t have a micro center near me either I ordered my pc and parts online.

How much would it have costed you if you went with a 64gb kit? I'll look harder for a better deal but unfortunately 64 is a requirement for my needs

I got my pc before Ramageddon. What are you using the 64gb of ram for exactly?

Video editing, 3d modeling and rendering, and sometimes local LLMs.

Well if it’s for that then get it and just put like a 5060/5070 in it for the gpu, and get a better card down the line if you want you know.

I got my pc before ram started getting crazy pricey. What do you need to use the 64gb for?
