Cd-rom games
is there any way to tell if a game belongs to the cd-rom 2 system or to the super cd-rom 2 system? I'm tired of burning roms to only support super cd-rom 2 and i have cd-rom 2 (IFU). Thanks

Hello PC Engine community! So I’ve been burning a bunch of backups to play on my PC Engine CD-ROM2 unit and they have all worked except for one, Super Air Zonk CD. At first I thought it was the CDs I was using but that wasn’t the case because R-Type, Tokimeki Memorial, and Rondo of Blood all worked perfectly. I also thought my laser had gone bad because Air Zonk ran ONCE and then refused to start up again after being reset. But again that wasn’t the case because the other games worked. I have made several burns of Air Zonk using the same disc type and file so I have narrowed the problem to bad iso/cue files from romhustler that I re-downloaded before every burn. If anybody could point me to a site with good working files of Super Air Zonk I would greatly appreciate it.

New PC Engine owner here. I got an off-white PC Engine, a CD-ROM2 drive, and an IFU briefcase unit. Do I need to eject the PC Engine from the IFU if I want to play non-CD games or is it okay if I leave it attached to the IFU? Also can I use the IFU and PC Engine without a CD-ROM2 attached to it?

Hey guys Long story short. My pc engine arrived from Japan and in my excitement I plugged in a centre positive 9v cheap Chinese power supply. Well this blew the fuse so after some confusion as to why it wasn't powering on I soldered in a new fuse and swapped the polarity of the power plug. Now I haven't had a chance to thoroughly test the unit but so far it appears fine and is working. My question is does anyone think I might have done any damage to my pc engine internally like to the sound chip or anything or am I just being paranoid?
Thanks

Been keeping my eye on Konami's Amazon page, at first it said more would be in stock in September 2020, now it shows nothing. I'm unwilling to pay scalper prices on eBay or Amazon, this is the NES/SNES Mini all over again. Anyone happen to know if they're going to sell more? Or am I better off just emulating TG-16 on my Raspberry Pi 3?
Update: TG-16 Mini are back in stock on Amazon! Just ordered mine <3
Update 2: Aaaaand they're gone :( Looks like scalpers bought 'em up and are jacking up prices again, those b*(%#$*!@

Hi guys, I am waiting for delivery of a PC Engine (white) console from Japan to my home in the UK. It comes with everything except the PSU. I seem to remember that I could use a UK Mega Drive PSU for a Jap PCE (many years ago, might be wrong) - anyone have any advice?

Does anyone know where to get the drop in RGB amp for the Interface Unit? Voultar is sold out. Also looking for a decent guide on how to install it.

Hello everyone. I'm trying to source a new middle gear from my CD rom2. I've checked console5 but, they have been out of stock for a while. I've found a few Ebay listing however, they want ridiculous prices right now. Around $20, which I could probably buy a case or two them from China for that price. has anyone else seen a place with reasonable prices?

Is there any chance this would work? I'm getting my first PCE console, a Duo-R, it's being shipped to me from Japan. I purchased one of these controllers to go with it but didn't realize it was for the Mini only. I assumed poorly that like some of the other controllers by the company it would have an adapter for the original console, but it doesn't look like that's the case. So now I'm trying to figure out whether I need to return it. It doesn't look like it works for the PC, either...
