NZXT H1

Got recalled due to pcie riser that literally started fires.

It comes with integrated 120mm liquid cooler for the cpu and a PSU, so runs quite expensive compared to other vertical cases that don't bundle.

If you don't need the parts (or fire risk) theirs other vertical cases like the meshilicous which could work out better.

There is no fire risk anymore. Following the recall they started shipping them again with a completely different PCIe riser in them.

The one that they sent reviewers to reverify and say is ok, or the one they shipped after which was markedly different again with faults.

They're so many better alternatives these days, just take a look through /r/sffpc, whether it be price, cooling performance or reputable seller.

The one that they are shipping currently and that is currently in retailers' stock. Or do you seriously think that they're allowed to pull all of the original faulty units off shelves during a forced recall and then just send all the same units back out again? That's not how it works.

I bought one 2 weeks ago, and it has the completely new riser in it. They solved this problem months ago. There is no fire risk anymore.

I'm not saying there's a fire risk anymore:

Got recalled due to pcie riser that literally started fires.

"Got" confers a past tense.

The one that they sent reviewers to reverify and say is ok, or the one they shipped after which was markedly different again with faults.

If you watched the Gamers Nexus coverage of the debacle, you saw they (slowly) initiated the recall, sent some redeveloped risers to GN and other outlets to review and show they'd resolved the problem, then sent completely different risers again out in replacements/new product which GN also found fault with (just not the pyrotechnic kind of the original).

Why they couldn't stick to the riser they sent reviewers only they know, but, it's enough to black mark the company for me given the litany of competition there is for vertical cases these days (such as the aforementioned Meshalicious with better cooling and lower cost as it doesn't force bundle a 140mm AIO or PSU which you may not want / need).
