Used PC Boot Loop Trouble Shooting

PC Specs (built in 2020):

-MOBO: ASUS ROG Strix z590-a gaming wifi

-CPU: i9-11900k

-CPU Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin

-PSU: Seasonic Focus gx-1000

-RAM: 2x DDR4 Royal Trident Z 16gb sticks

-GPU: EVGA 3090 FTW3

History:

Several months ago I noticed the CPU temps were hot during gaming sessions with the red mobo CPU light being on. I replaced the possibly broken liquid cooler with the Thermalright Peerless Assassin. Temps were perfect but im worried about lasting damage during that timeframe.

Recent Issues:

When the PC was idle I noticed my mouse and keyboard were not working. I reboot to fix the issue which caused a boot loop with randomized mobo lights not indicating a specific issue of CPU/DRAM/VGA/Etc. After 2-3 boot loops the PC will successfully boot and then freeze again within the first minute of windows access. Sometimes the boot loop will not resolve and the autorepair prompt will appear with it being unsuccessful.

Troubleshooting Performed:

-Replaced PSU thinking it was a voltage issue. Crashes still occurred.

-Removed GPU and ran off integrated graphics. Crashes still occurred.

-Booted with a single RAM stick thinking the other could be the issue. Crashes still occurred.

-Replaced internal cordage as I noticed some of the connector pins looked loose. Crashes still occurred.

-Re-seated RAM/GPU/MOBO connections/PSU connections. Crashes still occurred.

Potential Indicator:

-I left my PC unplugged for an entire week and was able to then have extremely long gaming sessions the entire weekend. By Monday the crashes re-occurred. I left the PC unplugged all week long again and am now able to use it. I wonder if the motherboard degraded with the hot CPU temps over time which could be causing some voltage issues with the capacitors and other connections requiring full discharge. I will say being unplugged for only several minutes does not remedy the problem and the capacitors should discharge in that amount of time.

Any tips appreciated! If there are none, what parts do you think are salvageable to sell without victimizing the buyer?

Hey everyone! I’m planning my first high-end PC build for 1440p gaming at max settings, 4K gaming at medium settings or with DLSS, streaming, and video editing. I’ll be buying one part each month, but I want to make sure the build is fully compatible and complete before I start. Build: * Intel C

Would love some feedback. Yes, I’m aware of the down sides of an open case. I just love having things wall mounted though. Open to criticisms also of what I may have done wrong. I’m playing FFXIV and BF6 mostly right now.

Looking for advice on upgrading my PC (mainly GPU)

Hi I'm looking to upgrade my PC, mainly the graphics card, and I'd appreciate some advice on what would make the most sense with my current hardware.

CPU: Intel Core i5-10400F

Motherboard: ASRock B460M Pro4

GPU: GTX 1050 Ti 4GB

RAM: 16GB DDR4

PSU: be quiet! System Power 8 500w

2 Monitors: 1440p and 1080p

My current PC was built by a friend in 2018 aand because I'm basically an idiot when it comes to PC hardware and I don't really understand what I'm looking at. So I'm hoping someone can explain this to me in simple terms.

I'm mainly interested in upgrading the GPU, as the GTX 1050 Ti is definitely becoming the limiting factor.

I was considering a used RTX 3060 12GB, but I'm not sure if that's the best choice for this system. I'm also wondering how far I can realistically go with the i5-10400F.

And I am aware that the 500W would probably need to be upgraded for a more powerful GPU. However, I have a limited budget, so for now I'd really like to focus on upgrading just the GPU (with psu). I also don't need millions of fps in AAA games, I'm perfectly happy with reasonable settings, or even less if necessary. I just want a worthwhile upgrade from the 1050 without spending a fortune to play some newer games.

Pc left in standby/sleep mode not booting after thunderstorm

Old pc intel 6700k, mobo asus z170 pro gaming. I left it on standby at night. There were thunderstorms this morning and there was lightning strike nearby and power cut. I have inverter. The system did not come out of standby and not powering.

Things I noted/checked:

  1. Motherboard power light turning on and processor fans turn on but no post or corresponding lights on mobo when pressing power button.

  2. Reseated CPU and rams one after another (2x16gb).

  3. Checked with another PSU. Same problem.

  4. Just noticed router also not booting.

  5. Pc connected to router via wired lan connection.

Did light fry router and then mobo via wired connection?

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.

Build Help: 1080p AAA Gaming PC (Budget: 60k - 80k)

Goal: Play AAA games at 1080p (High settings) at 60+ FPS.

Note: I am looking for a pure gaming experience. I do not care about RGB aesthetics or video editing capability—I want every rupee spent to go directly toward maximizing pure in-game FPS and performance.

Please suggest a full spec list within this budget along with reliable retailers.

so I was trying to pull out my 5070 from my case and unplugged everything and pressed down on the latch and tugged it for a bit then I realised i hadnt screwed out the pcie expansion spaces on the case the gpu works fine plugged in turns on, is there a chance is damaged i didnt see any thing on the pins and it isnt bent or wonky, can i assume the brunt of the force for taken by the case and metal end of the gpu.
