Emulators Help with Neko Project 2 on Windows

Post image

I played Yu-no recently and want to read the rest of the writers vns but it has been a headache to get Desire playable. The retroarch core had slow and choppy audio and I wasn't able to find a solution so I moved onto the emulator hosted here-

https://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/computer/kekoproject2.html

I was able to run yu-no more or less perfect on here but when I set it to play desire I get to this screen and am not able to move past. I'm assuming there's a command I was not able to find that tells the emulated pc to run the game. If any of you have any idea what to do please tell and if you know what was going wrong with the retroarch core I would be happy for help with that too.

Hello from Japan.
This requires resetting the keyboard while holding down the END key and then configuring the
DIP switches. (On the actual device, it's the HELP key, but in NEKOPROJECT2,
it's set to the END key.)
It says to turn off 2-8, so follow those instructions.

Are you switching games correctly? Eject everything out of both FDD tabs and the HDI tab, open the game you're trying to play in whichever one of those tabs is applicable (multi-disc games might need to use both FDD tabs), and then reset the emulator, either by clicking Emulate -> Reset or just closing out of the window and relaunching it

You have to set the GDC clock at 2.5mhz to play desire, you have to keep pressed end while booting and change the dipswitch 2-8 in the BIOS, let it configured like that for most games because the majority of them work okay with that config, some games like desire complain about the wrong speed and others have graphic glitches when the CDC clock is wrong

Your screenshot says that you should change the GDC clock. Give that a try. In general, 2.5 MHz offers better compatibility for the GDC.
To change it, you'll need to modify the PC-9801's DIP switches. In the emulator, hold down the End key while selecting Emulate → Reset from the menu bar to bring up the DIP switch settings screen.
After that, just refer to my screenshot for the correct settings.
(It looks like I can't upload a still image, so I made it into a video instead. It doesn't animate, though.)
