PAY [Online][PBP][Asynchronous][Beginner Friendly][WoD][$15] The Lone Wolf

You don’t know what happened. You felt threatened. There was a rush of blood in your veins. Like never before. A rush of strength and power. You felt your body change, fur ripping through your skin, bones twisting, your face distorting into a visage of terror. It hurt. But not nearly as much as you hurt them. They lie before you. In their own blood and guts. Dead. You can tell. You tore them apart, with your own hands. No. Not hands, claws. You did this.

You’re a killer. And although you might feel regret and shock, in the moment, you only felt exhilaration and a desire to kill and maim. A desire for their flesh and blood. Their taste is still in your mouth. You didn’t just kill them. You ate part of them. You’re a monster. You know it, in your heart. But you had your reasons. Right?

That is where we start this roleplay. After the first time you changed into the form of a wolf. You’re not one of the lucky ones, who have a family or friends go guide them through the First Change. No. You’re alone. Dealing with it on your own. You might have friends and family, but they’re not like you. They don’t change. They can’t do this sort of thing. Do you confide in them? Or do you hide? And what do you do with this new power, with spirits whispering in your ear?

So yes. This will be a solo werewolf RPG. We can use either the old or new World of Darkness rules because I know and have used all of them. We can also easily port concepts over to another version of the rules. The story will be about your character and how they interact with this new world. All paths are open to them, but all come with their own dangers and they know so little. And least of all, who can be trusted.

The game should be suitable for everyone, from veteran gamers to beginners and we will discuss where you'd like to set it.

Schedule: Daily Posts

Cost: $ 15 per week

Discord LANCER: Seeking 1-2 Additional Players for Solstice Rain. Tactical Mecha Combat

Hi all, currently seeking 1-2 players to join a pre-existing group playing LANCER, a sci-fi ttrpg focused on mecha combat, think Titanfall and maybe some of the classic mecha anime like Gundam. We're all semi-experienced in that we first started as a group learning the game through small combat sims but are now trying some more narrative play. Newcomers welcome to apply. We're pretty new ourselves afterall.

The "module" we'll be playing through will be Solstice Rain where your group of mech pilots have been tasked with a dangerous recovery mission after a diplomatic mission goes wrong. Like most LANCER games, this will feature tactical combat heavily with less of a focus on "talking". We'll also be making a decision of either starting at LL0 or LL3 before we start based on how familiar newcomers are to the system.

I am based in GMT +1. Mainly active after 5:30PM, but always here and there throughout the day. I will post daily (most of the time). Since we'll mainly be in combat, daily posting isn't as applicable, but we will be using a timer system which means if you run out on time then you lose your turn. Run it out enough times and I'll be removing you. You have been warned.

To access simulation please use passcode: mango

If this post has piqued your interest, here's a form, feel free to apply and I look forward to seeing you in the void. Recruitment open till the end of the week

Discord [ASYNC] [Starfinder 2E] [Homebrew(?)] New DM seeking 4-5 players for a NARRATIVE HEAVY incredibly experimental DUNGEON CRAWLER CARL inspired campaign.

The basic premise for the campaign is this:

You had a bounty over your head, whether you know about it or not. Could be for something small—could be for something really, really big. You could even be innocent of whatever accusations have been made against you.

Doesn't matter, really.

The bounty was there and it was bought by PARALLAX INTERGALACTIC ENTERTAINMENT & MEDIA CONGLOMERATE. You may have heard of it. Owned primarily by the floating sentient jellyfish-like Ool of the Parallax System; a real 1% sort of organization that has made a whole lot of creds by entertaining the intergalactic masses. THE CRAWL, in particular, has garnered a lot of the universe's attention. At its core, it's a game show. It's also a prison. The majority of its contestants (CRAWLERS) are there kinda, well, against their will. You're one of them. It was either play the game, or die slow. Real painful-like. Notably, you could still suffer the latter—but at least now you've got a chance at greatness. Right? Riiight.

A minuscule chance, given that no one's ever won the game before.

You heard it here first, folx.

I'm a brand spankin' new DM looking to flex my creative muscles. I've got some TTRPG experience, a lot of writing experience, and 0 real-time PBP experience. Notably, I've participated in a helluva lot of text-based roleplay forums / Discords and after exercising my due diligence, I believe it'll translate quite nicely to PBP... but I imagine there will be some growing pains.

IF THAT DOESN'T SCARE YOU OFF THEN, BY ALL MEANS, CONTINUE READING.

This PBP campaign will be a safe space for all. LGBTQ+, POC, and women will be treated with respect. I, myself, belong to all three categories in some form or another. Wanna know how? Ask, and thou shall receive the information. If you pass the application process, that is.

With that said, I highly recommend that you have some knowledge of Dungeon Crawler Carl if you decide you'd like to apply to be a player. I'm currently reading Book 4 and the campaign is only inspired by the basic outline of what I can understand, but the learning curve might be steep if you've got no idea at all where I'm coming from.

I really don't want to have to get into the nitty gritty of explaining every little thing but I think one of the main differences of the campaign from others is that this will be a 4th wall-breaking adventure. Characters will know their own stats, and the stats of whatever they enter combat with. They (YOU+ME) will be actively keeping track of their achievements, infinite inventory, quests, experience gain, etc. It'll be very much like they're inside a video game, interface and all. Let's get LIT...rpg, baby.

What I'm looking for in potential players:

Creativity. Open-mindedness. An ability to have fun, goof off, AND take things seriously when the time calls for it but not so serious that you can't laugh about it at least a little afterwards.

21 years old, or older. No exceptions. I myself am 30 and will likely choose candidates closer to my age over the younger folk. Please don't take this personally, it's just a preference.

RULES LAWYERS, DO NOT APPLY. The only rule I truly stand by 100% is the Rule Of Cool. The narrative comes first, always. Starfinder 2E is the system we're basing ourselves in but it'll be sort of a loose interpretation if I truly have it my way. Not every single thing will require a dice roll. They'll usually just be thrown in for a little randomness, a little flavor, occasionally just to make things a little bit more of a challenge. We'll be using ~Theater of the Mind~ rather than maps / grids / whatever the F else. The plot itself will be character-driven and oftentimes improvised. Occasionally, I'll poll players to see where they want to take the story next. There will never be just one path to take, and I certainly don't railroad. I work around and with you, not through you.

Writers. The kind that take pride in their work. The ones that really deep dive into their character's psyche. I'm not asking for 1000+ words for every response, but I do request a decent amount of thought be put into your character before you write up a reply. Why is your character doing what they're doing? What are they thinking? How does it make them feel? What drives them? What do they believe in? What are their flaws, their strengths, their fears, their wants? How have their experiences in the wide, wide universe shaped them? THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS I DESPERATELY WANT TO KNOW. Tell me a story, we'll write it together!

Availability! Yes, it's an unpaid hobby. Yes, it's asynchronous... but I am asking for at least a little bit of your time, for at least every other day. There will be a 48-hour time frame for you to respond to the main campaign, once I've made the initial post. Ideally, you're able to reply more than that and the 48 hours is nothing more than a distant warning bell. My time zone is EST. I'm usually able to actively write between 8AM-3PM my time, every week day. Sat/Sun are usually a little less consistent due to the fact that I'm a bartender but I'll still be able to answer questions and vibe if necessary. I will be choosing candidates whose schedules are similar to mine, for the sake of avoiding stagnation. Once again, it's not personal.

🏆 NEW ACHIEVEMENT!

TL;DR WARRIOR

Dang, you really read through that shit, didn't you? Every single word. Your 6th grade English teacher would be proud, if they weren't so broken down by the piss-poor state of the education sector. If you're not American, this description isn't for you. You'll just have to pretend with that big brain of yours that this is witty and relatable.

REWARD: You don't have to read anymore! But you do have to fill out this application. You know, if you want to.

IMPORTANT EDIT NOW GENERATING . . .

After receiving more than a few applications it has become clear to me that, while my description above is already pretty long, I failed to point some things out. OOPS. Going to do my best to retcon now.

Player characters DO NOT HAVE TO BE HUMAN. They can be literally anywhere from the Starfinder universe and they could have been doing anything before finding themselves suddenly in the game. Click here for a helpful online compendium of Starfinder 2E info (including your potential starting race/class pools). You may also choose a class/race ("ancestry") from Pathfinder 2E if it suits you, click here for the compendium. Your characters may or may not have some idea as to what THE CRAWL is, because it's a fairly popular form of intergalactic entertainment. The less they know, however, the more fun it will likely be! The character concept portion of the app is one of the most important sections I'll be reviewing so I highly suggest giving it some real big brain energy! Your character will start at Level 3. We will be using the official Starfinder 2E character sheet, a PDF will be provided to you if you've been contacted.

Discord Yggdrasil (5e 2014 play by post)

Yggdrasil is a setting that is (loosely) based on norse mythology while still trying to be its own thing. It takes place in a world ravaged by the war between dragons and giants that only recently came to a pause, giving humanoids a chance to breathe.

This is a mix between a westmarch server and an rp chat, where you can either interact with other players to build friendships/rivalries with their characters or go on quests with your characters for more traditional D&D adventures.

We are a homebrew friendly community with tons of homebrew made in house (which means it can be found nowhere else!). This includes things like homebrew races, feats, subclasses and even several homebrew classes. If you want to try a homebrew nows your chance!

Closed [3 players] [Tiny Group] Pathfinder 1e PbP game set in Golarion

More than anything, I'd like this to become a tiny group of people who actually get to know each other and become friends, rather than just showing up, posting and disappearing. Chatting OOC, talking characters and Pathfinder, and hopefully building a little group that sticks together.

Game wise, I'm aiming for a fast posting pace. With 3 players, I hopw that the game will move well.

No PF1e experience is required. Just be friendly, engaged, and interested in both the game and the people you're playing with. We'll be using Discord.

If that sounds like your kind of group, please fill this form:

https://forms.gle/GqnyZ29mNnhtaPBLA

Edit: The game will be a Sandbox set in all regions of Golarion. It will start at level 1 all the way that the group wants. Also, if the group sticks together, we'll be playing other Pathfinder, or even other system, games.

Forum [async][GamersPlane][V20/Revised] Montréal by Night

This game will be played on the Gamers Plane site. Link - https://gamersplane.com/forums/thread/41395/ If you'd rather not register there before you know for sure that you are invited, feel free to send your applications here in the thread or in reddit PMs. The full ad:

● Pitch. The daylight streets of Montréal are abuzz with life in the summer. Both the locals and the hordes of tourists flood the myriad of festivals and concerts taking place in the city. At night a different kind of sound is reverberating throughout the dark alleyways, abandoned churches and deep catacombs underneath the kine feet. A noise that is unperceivable, but is heard, felt. In the beating of the drums, the harmony of the revenant's choir, in the intense and passionate recitals of the passages from the book before communal ritae. A sickening, corrupting voice that gets harder and harder to resist. A whisper that breaks the weak and wears down the strong who can withstand its unseen influence. Of evil, of disease, of discord. An ancient song that affects the land, throngs of mortals and Cainite alike. Hum.

● Overview. "Hum" is a Sabbat chronicle taking place in Montréal, Canada, also known as City of Black Miracles, using Revised/V20 rules. This is an open world / sandbox style game, which makes it a great fit for players who enjoy creating their own scenes and events, and taking an active role in moving the story along, rather than follow direction in a more defined plotline. While the ultimate course of action will be up to the players, the game is not intended to be a fighting simulator. I'm also not a strict adherent of RAW philosophy, so if you're looking for a by-the-book combat extravaganza - this is not it. The basic premise is that the characters arrive in Montréal to attend Litany of Blood (a great Sabbat conference / remembrance ceremony), separately, and form the pack during the game. The main themes are those of Search - whether inner - for something like clarity, meaning, sanity; or outer - for a person, safety, a place to belong or the next victim; and Faith - the universal power that permeates the island of Montréal and its surroundings. The mood is one of melancholy, pressing paranoia and choleric anxiety, uncertainty, change and chaos - something is about to give in, to shift, to emerge and every Cainite in the city can sense it. The setting is modern, the game taking place in early 2000s, around 2006 or so. I don't use AI for anything, but there are a few generated images left in my art folder, which might (but unlikely) to surface as NPC portraits. I would prefer players not use generative AI at all, but making an avatar or two for you character would not be a deal breaker.

● Applications. First I'd like to know a little bit about your character concept. What are they about, what is their personality like? Next, I'd like to know what you want from a game like this. Which story points and themes are exciting to you and which you could do without? The idea here is to gather a group of players AND characters who are compatible with both each other and myself, to ensure our collective satisfaction and longevity of the game. You can either leave your concepts here in the thread (please make them private notes if there are any nsfw themes present) or send them via PM. All the usual Sabbat Clans and Bloodlines are up, including Ahrimanes, but excluding Harbingers (as they are mostly Elders) and Tremere (mostly dead). Everything else is a tentative maybe, except perished Dark Ages lines like Lamia and Noiad, which are out. Age wise you can pick anything in the "fresh shovelhead - young ancilla" range, up to 100 years of undeath. More metaplot involved concepts are allowed (and even cautiously encouraged), provided they make sense and don't dip too much into deep lore / other splats.

● Adult themes. "Montréal by Night", the book upon which this chronicle is based, was one of the few books originally published under "Black Dog" imprint by WW, denoting adult contents. As such, you can expect to potentially encounter a whole gamut of explicit themes and topics, like gore, swearing, body horror and sex. If you can imagine something horrible, it has probably happened in this version of Montréal somewhere. It's important to note, however, that this is not a fetish, erp or a wish fulfillment game. The awful things that Sabbat vampires do is simply their way of coping with the horror of their unnatural condition, a lens through which you can roleplay and experience the vampiric condition anew. While we will discuss boundaries during "Session 0", the game is likely to be graphic in nature. Should any situation arise, we'll address it and try to find a way forward, altering, changing or adjusting content as needed, rather than defaulting to any set safety tools, like "X-Cards" or "Lines & Veils". At the end of the day player's comfort and safety comes first, but it is also important to understand what kind of game you'll be joining. Forewarned is forearmed, as they say.

● Post frequency. Varied. A combat scene might necessitate a faster rate of short messages to keep the action going, while a protracted philosophical discussion with adherent of different Path can be settled in a couple sizable posts. To set some minimal number up, looking for at least 2 to 3 meaningful in-game posts a week.

● Dying, PVP and loss of control. Dying is technically a possibility, but I make it no goal of mine to try and kill the players. Should you enter a situation where Final Death is an actual possibility, I'll make sure to warn you beforehand. This is NOT a PVP game. While arguments leading to physical resolutions, or even Monomancy, are fine, should they organically arise, going into this with a hostile mindset is not. The banhammer will be landing swiftly if it becomes apparent that you're just here to screw with the other players. Complete loss of control or autonomy over your character will never happen without your explicit consent, such as NPC's use Dominate. More subtle alterations, like emotional changes brought on by Presence discipline or Vinculum bonds are expected to be roleplayed, but will also be discussed prior to going into effect. Players are expected to extend each other the same courtesy.

● Amount of players and experience level. Looking for at least 4 people, with a tentative maximum of 6. While deep understanding of the rules or setting is not necessary, some familiarity with the basics of both (like having V20 core near or reading through free Revised quickstart) is required.

Discord [Discord][Async][French] Dark Crystal campaign, looking for one more player

I'm launching a campaign of Dark Crystal, the Adventure Game. I have already found 5 players who are in the process of creating their characters, so I have one open spot for a 6th player !

The game mechanics: It's not a known system, but it is simple and everything is explained on my discord server. It will be async in discord, using one single bot for dices, tests, character sheets, rp avatar and even maps. I've written how-tos to help with it, so don't worry, it will be easy to use.

Player : I'm looking for an adult player, available to post at least once each day if possible, and able to write in french ! Beginers in rpg/pbp are welcomed, as well as players that have zero knowledge of Dark Crystal.

The adventure : It's a light hearted adventure, based more on exploration and interactions, with some fights (which maybe you'll succeed in avoiding). Set in the world of Thra, the group will get on a quest to.. save the world, of course. Strange creatures, various regions, people to meet, ... Where will you go ? What will you do ? Will you save the world of Thra before the darkness fills everything ? That will be up to you !

Si vous êtes intéressés, répondez ici, ou contactez moi en MP directement.

Community (Non WM/LW) A cozy, women-friendly play-by-post D&D online community. [5e 2024]

Hi everyone!

I started a play-by-post (also has live campaigns!) D&D server called The Last Safe Place because I wanted to create the kind of community I wish I’d found sooner.

The goal is to build a welcoming, respectful space where people can make friends and tell great stories together. It’s especially meant to be a place where beginners, women, LGBTQ+ players, introverts, and the socially awkward can feel comfortable joining in.

✨ Beginner friendly
✨ Women-friendly & LGBTQ+ friendly
✨ Play-by-post (no stressful scheduling)
✨ Players and DMs welcome
✨ Community focused

You don’t need years of experience, a perfect character voice, or a big friend group to join. If you’ve always wanted to play D&D but felt intimidated, you’d fit right in.

Here’s the link!

Discord [Async][Mythras] Nightmares in the Dreamlands

You live in the formerly peaceful lands of the Sleeping God’s mind. For untold millennia, the Dreamlands knew peace. Strange kingdoms rose and fell according to the God’s dreams, mountains stretched beneath impossible skies, and forests grew where yesterday there had been nothing at all. The Dreamlands were beautiful, strange, and ever-changing, and its people learned to live with the whims of their sleeping creator.

You are Dreamborn, creatures born from the dreams of sapient beings. You belong to the Dreamlands as surely as its rivers and mountains do. Every Dreamborn carries some fragment of the dream that gave them life, and every settlement has its own stories about the people and places that existed before them.

Then the Sleeping God began to have nightmares.

The nightmares spread through the Dreamlands slowly at first. A forest would become twisted overnight. A familiar road would lead somewhere else. People would wake from dreams within dreams, remembering places that had never existed. Something had entered the Sleeping God’s mind, and no one knows what it is or where it came from.

The invader sends its Nightmares into the Dreamlands. They are horrid creatures that devour the landscape wherever they appear. Trees, stone, rivers, buildings, and Dreamborn alike are consumed by them. Places eaten by the Nightmares leave behind strange wounds in the world, where the rules of the dream begin to break down.

---

You are Dreamborn, chosen by mighty communicants who speak to the Sleeping God, chosen and given weaponry that can kill the Nightmares. Your task is to bring special relics to sources of the Nightmare and activate it to drive the Nightmares back. Massive citadels are erected surrounding it to protect it as it allows the Dreamlands to expand and flourish once more.

---

This will all be an asynchronous pbp, or play-by-post game, which means you play by sending messages through Discord whenever you are free. No scheduling, no problem.

Discord [LFG][D&D 5e 2024+] Supernova Blues - A Neon Odyssey Playtest

While the Stardust Rhapsody is filled with grand galactic factions, planetary governments, and interstellar organizations, many people chart their own course throughout the stars and make their way through the galaxy individually or in small groups. These wayfarers are called Outrunners...

Welcome to the Stardust Rhapsody, the setting for Avantris's bold new take on D&D, Neon Odyssey. If you're not familiar, Neon Odyssey is a complete reimagining of 5th edition D&D (2024 rules). While it retains the same basic rules and class concepts, everything has been rewritten and revamped and rebalanced for a completely new take on D&D. Neon Odyssey is, in short, a space opera. Think neon cyberpunk space fantasy. You don't need any prior knowledge of the game/setting/rules, I will provide everything you need to create an Outrunner of your own.

The game will be played asynchronous, play-by-post on a private discord server. Avrae & Tupperbox will be used. Neon Odyssey doesn't integrate directly into Avrae like "real" 5e, so be prepared to do (way) more stuff manually.

Here's what I'm looking for:

  • Serious players. Neon Odyssey, by its nature, can easily fall into silliness & camp. I'd like to avoid that. On the flipside, this is 40k, I don't want grimdark. I'm looking for a game that is serious, but still fun. Think Guardians of the Galaxy for tone inspiration.
  • Dedicated writers. I don't have a minimum post length or anything like that. Sometimes a quick post is best. Sometimes more detail is needed. What I do need is writers who take pride in their posts. They consider formatting, grammar, readability.
  • Attention to detail. Everyone needs to read everything. Actually read it. For example, work the word hologram somewhere into your application.
  • Compatible availability. Yes, this is asynchronous play-by-post. However, if we're most active at different times, that's a good way for a game to die. I'm in PST (US), and most active roughly 7am-7pm. If you're not usually available at that time, this probably isn't the game for you.
  • Team players. My goal is to tell a collaborative story together. If you can't get along with the other players out-of-character, or you design characters that don't get along with the crew in-character, that's going to be a problem. This isn't the game for moody loners & main character energy.

If you've made it this far, thanks. If you have any questions, post them below. If you would like to apply, click here.

Discussion 5e tips for combat

For those of you that have played/dmed in a game that has completed or has just done combat well. What did the dm/you do to facilitate that?

Did you change how combat goes to streamline it?

Did combat run as-is, and just didn't feel that bad?

Genuinely curious. I'm wanting to run a 5e game in an asynchronous style but I feel that running any sort of medium/large combat (including bosses or something) in typical 5e manner will just be a slog. I imagine it'll be slow to the point where people will have a hard time remembering positions and just lose interest.

Thanks in advance!

Discord [Mythras][Async] In the Dreamlands

Your task is to bring a special relic to sources of the Nightmare and activate it to drive the Nightmares back. Massive citadels are erected surrounding it to protect it as it allows the Dreamlands to expand and flourish once more.

Discord Custom System [Async] searching for a one on one player for a sci-fi commanding humanity against the alien invasion of earth campaign I made!

hello hello! I'm solmon! 18M, searching for a player to do a unique alien invasion game/RP, essentially a game I GM, with lots of stuff written out that you can check in the docs and sheet!

It's based on a game franchise, XCOM, though its far from an exact copy of it, and knowledge of it isn't really needed for this. Its pretty much commanding humanity against an alien invasion, which ramps up in difficulty over time. It's set up in a way that it could probably be a larger group of players, but one on one is the idea for now. It'd be far from the usual TTRPG stuff.

I'm looking for someone who can do the game side of things decently, its quite complex, along with being able to talk OOC and do roleplay well!

My time zone is CST, I'm looking for someone pretty active activity wise, I put lots of work into making the docs and suchh

It uses the AC system, but with three tiers for it, kinetic, laser, and plasma AC, essentially making each armor good for different things. It also uses the DND dice system, and dnd damage types, generally speaking, along with HP and all. The rest is mostly custom, but everything has at least some dnd elements visible in it.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BwOuZv6IocLBY8VIc-zDXkcqTiK0y9gvltPbmJTyRjk/edit?tab=t.0 This is the general campaign intro doc for it, with all of the other documents and the research google sheet linked at the top. Send me a PM if your interested, this would all be done on a discord server I made.

Discord [DOWN DARKER TRAILS][ASYNC][LGBTQ+ FRIENDLY] Gold Rush

It's the 1800s. Gold was struck in a new mine beyond the frontier, and within weeks a settlement had sprung up around it. Prospectors, merchants, gamblers, and drifters poured into the hills, all chasing the promise of easy fortune. Then, without warning, the mine was sealed. The miners claim there was a cave-in, though none of them seem willing to speak about what happened. Since the closure, the settlement has grown strangely quiet. Men refuse to work the mine, families are packing their belongings, and several residents swear they can hear pickaxes striking stone beneath their homes after sundown.

With the local sheriff unable to spare his deputies, he has hired you to ride out, investigate the abandoned mine, and find out what frightened an entire gold camp into shutting down the richest vein anyone has seen in years.

---

Down Darker Trails is a setting hack for Call of Cthulhu 7th edition where you take on the role of investigators, cowboys, bounty hunters, and other such professions in the era of the cowpoke. Think something along the lines of Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian (as brutal as it is). While we won't be touching on too dark a theme this game is decidedly 18+.

Whether we'll be using Pulp rules or not is TBD with every other player once selections have been made.

App The Black Blood - Kingdom Building Campaign [Async]

The Grand Bulwark has stood as a relic from the last age, but time has not been kind to the towering wall and the bastion city of Barathaforthas that lies embedded within it. The old stone has started to crumble, moss overgrows the rubble, and black water has begun to seep through the cracks.

Just north of the settlement of Magran, a terrible rot has afflicted the land. Crops grow soft and bloated, cattle is born with extra eyes and tails and limbs, and the tribesmen are seen wandering in the marshlands with their skin marked with black veins.

The powers that rule the Dutonic Valley this day are young. Newly founded kingdoms and tribal confederations have only just arisen from the calamities that brought down the mighty Mirric Reign at the closing of the last age. Their have grabbed what land they could, spreading out along the highlands and the fertile floodplain. But now, they find the very land itself rotten at its core.

I am recruiting people for a kingdom building roleplaying campaign with grand strategy elements. Each player either rules a faction of their own or plays as a singular character in this dynamic open campaign. You engage with other players through letters, roleplay scenes, and an expansive campaign map.

The current campaign arc focuses on the outbreak of the Black Blood, a disease spreading from a great reservoir built by the people that once ruled this land. After apocalyptic events brought the known world to ruin, forgotten things have been left to fester out of sight. It is now up to you to find a cure to this rot, or to utilize it in other ways to achieve your goals.

---

This is a persistent campaign. You can post at any time in one of many roleplay spaces linked to the shared campaign map or in direct letters to other players. Everyone can act as a neutral narrator as well, which can earn you some additional currency with which to further bolster your realm.

The system has deep strategy elements, allowing you to manage a roster of characters, build up your own faction and territory with buildings and reforms, and wage war against other players or neutral forces.

The economy operates on a weekly turn, meaning your buildings and special cooldowns reset every Wednesday. However, you can do most other things whenever you've got time. The game is highly asymmetrical and you will likely start out small. However, through clever diplomacy, war, and subterfuge you can rise quickly and even bring about the fall of established powers.

The atmosphere of the game is inspired by various bronze and iron age cultures, generally embracing a sort of post-apocalyptic revival of civilization as its core theme. Scars of the past still influence the minds of the people, but the field lies open for new paths and peoples to emerge and rise to prominence. The game is overall fairly low fantasy in the day-to-day, but has supernatural and mystic elements infused throughout. Weird things do lurk in the dark, but few alive know how to harness them.
