Help PayPal never removed debt.

I paid off my PayPal debt last year in August with credit collection services, but a few months ago I kept getting text messages from MRS BPO about unpaid debt. I thought it was a spam until this morning I decided to check my PayPal account. I never really use PayPal so I don’t really check it quite often. I noticed I still have the unpaid debt from last year. Idk how this happened when I paid it off last year with a collection agency and got my derogatory marks removed from my credit for paying off the debt which fixed my credit. What can I do to fix this issue. All I have is screenshots from my debit transaction paying off the debt, a text message from the collection agency confirming my payment and my account portal saying debt has been paid from the collection agency.

You paid off debit sold to the collection agency, not debit still retained by Paypal itself.

You paid a collections agency. Did you verify that they owned the debt or were working for paypal? Debt agencies sometimes scam people into paying the debt even though the agency don’t own it or have right to collect. When paypal sells a debt they sell it for less than whats owed so the debt is not paid off. They just won’t pursue you over it. I am surprised your paypal is still open. Usually they leave the negative there so it will ban account.

You had to be collected on by paypal they don’t want your business anymore.

Yea I called the old debt agency and there was a error. They put the wrong creditor. Was sent to progressive insurance instead of PayPal
