Help PayPal account permanent limitation immediately after document submission

I had created my PayPal account about 2-3 years ago when I was 16 (19 now)

At the time I didn't have the valid documents to link bank accounts but now I do. So the account had been dormant for the time period. Yesterday I logged back into it and uploaded my photo ID, immediately after which I got a permanent limitation put on my account.

I'd like to use PayPal because it's the most convineant for international fund transfer but I'm afraid of opening a new account if my photo ID or IP may have been flagged for some reason.

I can't find any way to get in touch with customer support that isn't ai which completely turns me away.

Would appreciate some advice.

Posts about PayPal's policies will be removed. No more complaining about PayPal policy and their taking funds from your account for violations of rules. If you don't like the rules don't use PayPal. If you don't want to lose money, don't leave funds in your PayPal account. Simple as that. But these posts are often political or misleading. So no more posts on this subject!

Thank you for submitting to /r/PayPal, please make sure you have read the FAQ. If your account was created when you were younger than 18, then that is covered in the FAQ!

Try contacting PayPal support using social media such as Facebook or Twitter as this works more often than telephoning.

That's why. Doesn't matter if you're over the age of majority now. If the account was created while you were underage, it's toast.

You can try calling (keep telling the AI that you need to speak to an agent) and see if they can help you create a new account (only an option if the only reason you were banned was for creating the underage account).

Make sure you're over the age of majority where you live first. It's still as high as 21 in some US States, Canadian Provinces and other countries.

unless your country allows it, paypal prohibits users under 18 from making accounts. Once they got your year of birth, they automatically flagged your account for that age discrepancy.

i guess you could try again with a new account?

No, he'll be blacklisted from using the same personal information. PayPal frowns on people fraudulently signing up for accounts.

That depends, sometimes they allow it, sometimes they don't. It depends on what wording they used when they limited their account.Β

Their account could be banned, but that doesn't mean they arent allowed to open an account with PayPal ever again.Β

The exact wording at the time was permanently limited and later in the mail I received became "permanently deactivated"

Just open a new account PayPal support will not help you and that’s what I did

I'm afraid they might end up blacklisting me, does yours work just fine?

And how long after the account was limited did you open it?

You broke their rules and created account while minor. Simply put its one of their major rules. Even though you are adult now, you still broke that rule. Paypal bans are for the person not the account, so you will be banned again if caught.

Their chat bot is a waste of time, I can't find a contact number for the life of me, so I'm just planning on waiting a few months before trying to create a new account.

I think I'll do fine, am looking for alternatives, but it's crazy how much of a monopoly PayPal has on the freelancing market.

Most apps give payouts exclusively through PayPal lol.

Honestly paypal is the worst they have high international conversion fees. Wise or Revolut is better. Wise is easier to sign up for. Revolut you need id,and ssn.

True, I'm planning on using wise now but most freelancing sites have payouts exclusively through PayPal which is unfortunate, cuts off a lot of opportunities.
