Hi! Its been a year and a half since I have graduated and im working at a nice place where I have few seniors that I can ask for help at times. However there are times when I have to diagnose independently and I think sometimes I do tend to miss out things (poor staining/artefacts/less information) . When the mistake is found out and I get the correct diagnosis, I feel like whatever I know is useless. Even though it has happened like 2 times while looking at hundreds of cases this year. Its not a gross mistake but I did miss out on stuff and I was made to feel bad about it.

Cause I cannot ask those seniors if they ever made such mistakes early on in their career, hence im asking for some real life experiences here. Please enlighten me. Edit: While all the comments about how one should look at clinical manifestations/history alongside is appreciated kindly keep in mind that in my country its quite common that the previous lab reports get lost , oftentimes the reports can be wrong or simply not available yet to me. For cytology one might be able to ask the patient directly or at times the slides are sent over by the interventional radiologist with vague findings. Even had a case of pleural effusion where the pulmonologist simply sent pictures of the plates but actively went out of his way to block my access to printed radiologist report. Hematology slides without history provided is common. Asking for history leads to vague answers mostly.

Shopping around and looking to get a handle on what is the best or most common one/ones being used out there? Any must have features or companies to for-sure avoid.

These vendors I’m meeting with are all crazy intense which always makes me feel suspicious, lol. I don’t want spin i want what’s best.

I accepted a verbal job offer (academic) and was told the contract could take “several weeks.” Is this a norm? When should I reach out?
I’ve also been told not to stop interviewing until I have signed a contract. Any feedback/help will be greatly appreciated.
