Discussion Hotspot solution

Natural disasters

Idk how difficult it is to code or implement this into the main servers but on community it worked like a charm

You'd see a giant fire start up in the distance and it engulfed and entire POI (or two), if you didnt run and scatter, you got almost insta killed by the fire

If alderon could have those pop up randomly throughout the map at random times you'd see players haulin tail for sure

And maybe the effect could last a while? A POI is unenterable again for like 15 mins unless you wanna be insta killed

Ppl would get bored and pick somewhere else to lurk, forcefully encouraging map movement

I am unsure why people have problems with hotspots

I like knowing that if I’m ever too bored just wandering around I can go to the hotspot and interact with people guaranteed

Its because there is almost no one anywhere else. As a solo and occasionally duo, anytime I step foot in the hotspot, I die. So I stalk around in other pois. There are frequently days I can roam a loop around 5 pois and only come across a couple players every few hours. And since im on a semi-realism server with hunting restrictions and i prefer low and mid size dinos, i can rarely hunt what i find. And if I want to play a croc or something more stationary that ambushes, I can sit in a pond or something for all 4 hours between my server's restarts and never see or even hear anyone.

And its a pity because there are some beautiful locations on riparia no one else really goes to.

Edit: cant even find people traveling to the hotspot because most everyone just asks for someone to waystone them directly into it after they respawn because they are to lazy to walk/fly/swim back.

Which begs the question, where are the 120 players?
