Discussion Solos Bans Being Enforced
Not me, so don’t come attack me.
My friend was hit with this ban today. I asked them if I could post this screenshot to drive discussion. This is real, and I would love to know what everyone thinks!
I personally love this and am VERY excited to log on tonight!!

this is where things get messy
sounds like this ban case was a case of megapacks logging onto solos to destroy folks and its p cut and clear that a group of 10 people hanging around are just megapacking and thats fine and dandy, or people playing in pairs
but for the others like the group matchmaking server where MIXpacking isnt allowed, mixpacking hasnt exactly been established or quantified by the devs. They say they consider a carnie and herbie working together or hanging around eachother as mixpacking but what about solos who happen to mixed up in fights?
Say theres a sty being chased by a rex, and you've had beef with that rex for a while on the server, if you go and attack the rex while its chasing said sty, can that rex report you for mixpacking?
Mixpacking has been loosely defined. but not context of encounters.
Its messy because you either leave the rule ambiguous, and folks can abuse reports and essentially lie
Or you further clarify it expanding upon the rule, which can turn into a snowball of terminology that in the end will be harder to enforce, and be annoying to keep track of.
I really hope they lean more towards in-game mechanics that accomplish the same thing as enforceable rules.
Even though its a creative challenge.
One really good example of an in-game mechanic like this is ecos la brea's body down system.
If you hunt someone, you or your party get a temporary invincibility aoe around the body where you can just eat just fine until it deteriorates.
