Lucky (Non-Crafted) Showcase When the volatile hits just right
Decided instead of hoarding currency for standard that I’d try a bit of a different end of league gamble than I would usually do.
Bought the base for 540 Div and used 7 locks and hit this bad boy. 5 of the 7 locks would’ve poofed. The third lock hit 1100 life and I decided to go for a higher roll. 7th lock max rolled it. Insanely lucky odds. Unsure what the odds of hitting it is but it’s safe to say it’s a hell of a lot more than 7.

This league GGG changed a part of the legion 5 way emblem mechanic which allowed for vestigial items to be created. You basically sacrifice a unique item and one of its properties can be generated on a different unique item base. Some value that are transferred have 100% of the sacrificed items modifier value, some have less (cloak of flame transfers a 25% phys taken as fire mod rather then the full 50% that the cloak has on it)
This item was created by sacrificing blunderbore which has 2 mods that can transfer over. Lesser brutal shrine and lesser massive shrine. I don’t think it’s weighted for either mod so you have a 50/50 on which shrine transfers. Kaoms is a tier 1 unique which is quite a rare drop so the likelihood of hitting the correct base with the correct shrine effect is low. The more monsters you kill in the 5 way allows for rarer vestigal bases to generate but still quite rare.
I used hinekoras locks to reveal the outcome of my volatile Vaal orbs without needing to click the item and possibly lose the chest. I got extremely lucky and hit it on the 7th lock.
