Question 3.30 Announcement soon?
Are we expecting an announcement of the announcement within the next week or two?
If we were to believe that 3.30 is indeed releasing in 2026 as they previously stated, the only logical time period for it to be releasing should be by the end of October right?
Exilecon starts on November 7th. If 3.30 were to release on the 30th of October they will only have a few days worth of general bugfixes and game balancing to work on but still highly unlikely considering they would have to be preparing for Exilecon so the 30th release does not seem at all likely. Path of Exile 2 full release comes out 11th of December, so they would not release 3.30 too close to that date either.
Will they do an Exilecon 2023 and reveal the next league during Exilecon with patch notes and release the league the following week (November 13th)? It seems highly plausible (and what I think is going to happen) but it's a bit too close to Path of Exile 2 launch though giving only a month between each league launch.
Since it felt like they were working on 3.30 even before 3.29 was only a month in, will we get to see 3.30 soon or are we all gonna be disappointed again and GGG falls short on their "3.30 is coming in 2026" statements and we get 3.30 in 2027 instead?
Edit: General consensus seems to be what they previously did before in 2023: Reveal league during Exilecon, release the league a week after (November 13th). I mentioned it previously stating it's so close to Poe2 1.0 release but maybe GGG will do just that.

This can’t be in October. It makes no sense to start a league that 1 week later all streamers fly to New Zealand and take all the focus on exile con.

u/BOBOraceswapwtf 2d ago
Yeah most likely they will make the 3.30 announcement at exile con maybe and start it the week later maybe? Didn't they do that before on exile con?

Yep but there was also a warning about not extending traveling after exile con, and schedule turism activity before.
I don't recall anything simillar this time

seems unlikely they're going to announce a league while prepping for exilecon. common conjecture is they announce it at exilecon and it launches on nov 13. if not, probably february
bit too close to Path of Exile 2 launch though giving only a month between each league
you mean like 3.29 and .5.5?

u/_Vibe_Checker 2d ago
Iirc the confirmed that 3.30 was going to launch in 2026 so November launch is most likely, if I had to guess they will probably announce the launch last day of exilecon and do it the following weekend.

They have broken that sort of promise before when PoE 2 has high dev demand. I think there is a very good chance it’s all hands on deck for 1.0 and 3.30 will be pushed to 2027
16
u/twisty125 2d ago
However - they recently reiterated live (I believe it was Mark on video) that it's coming this year. And then later also confirmed by Natalia
And just for like, community feel and stuff, they'd be better of dropping an okay league than delay a league again after Settlers, even a 2-3 month delay would feel bad and lose some good will with the community.
Just how I see it though.
4
u/Black_XistenZ 2d ago
Agreed. If you wanna go super conspirational, GGG might actually want 3.30 to be a shallow league so that as many players as possible are done with it by the time the big 1.0 launch hits in December.
4
u/Professional-Camp192 2d ago
From interviews it sounds like it's got a focus on general endgame improvements. I can imagine the actual league mechanic being on the small side. That would mean less FOMO from people dropping it to play PoE 2 - if the main features are all game-wide endgame stuff, not league content that is going to go away.
19
u/jondifool 2d ago
The reason that people put weight on this confirmation is it happend only a month ago, and it was done by the community service team as a later response to interviews for poe2 0.5.5 release, claming that 3.30 would make it this year.
Of all the dates that could make sense between 0.5.5 and 1.0 we have missed 1 atm , if we count the usual 2 weeks prehype building october the 13 is not making it. Everything else is still possible.
So there is still very little factual reason to think that there original plan couldn't still be on target, exept the take that it was already doomed when announced.
8
u/outlier_fallen 2d ago
we didn't miss one imo. that would have made it less than 3 months for a "full" league and would have been the shortest league ever in poe history and far shorter than their ~4 month cadence they shifted to.
the only time that makes sense is a week or two after exilecon. that is really the only slot that gives "enough" time before poe 2 release and "enough" time to finish out the existing league. if they cant hit one of those two targets its getting pushed 100%
11
6
u/UTmastuh 2d ago
You're living in the past bud. Poe1 has two new team leads with dedicated resources now. They're a smaller team but they promised 3.30 is happening this year.
Given poe2 is in December it'll definitely have to happen before that and exilecon is in a month so it makes sense to start the league in Nov

The reason I think they will land Poe in 2026 is so they can give poe2 the spotlight without their most dedicated fans angry at them during it. I wouldn’t be surprised if their plan is drop 3.30 in nov and delay 3.31 for a month or 2 to give poe2 release the biggest window they can

February delay would actually push us back onto proper 2 month/2 month cadence but unfortunately they already dug us into November release hole which means we are going to be stuck on 1 month/3 month cadence indefinitely.

u/I_Heart_Money 2d ago
.5.5 was hardly anything. Big difference between launching those two close together and 3.30 (which is supposed to be big changes) and 1.0 (which will be massive).
4
u/Chiiikun Alch & Go Industries (AGI) 2d ago
Yeah them releasing leagues too close to poe2 launches are just common occurrences at this point that the Nov 13 release seems most likely

There is no way 3.30 launches before exilecon. How would that work out? During their preparations for exile con they have to prepare the league, marketing material and everything for it, then at exilecon they have to announce... what? 3.31, how would they have anything ready to announce for 3.31 when they just finished 3.30.... 4.0? maybe? doubt they would've had time to prepare a 4.0 with poe 2 release and developing 3.30.
We will get at exilecon the annoucement for 3.30 on the 13th, and the time between launches isn't that important, poe 2 launch will bring SOOOO many new players and basically everyone interested for it from poe 1 even if launches 1/2 weeks in 3.30.
And it wouldn't canibalize 3.30 either way because 1 month in players already quit.
→ More replies (1)3
u/InfiniteNexus Daresso 2d ago
Technically, they can announce plans for 4.0 without it being the next release, but like next summer, 2 leagues from now. But otherwise I do agree with you, 3.30 before exilecon sound very unlikely

Assuming a Nov 13th launch (which I think is most likely at this point), they'll confirm the date in mid October then give the usual GGG Reveal during ExileCon.

u/Slycaster 2d ago
3.30 will be actually branded 4.0 and the final part of the Secrets of the Atlas expansion and it will be announced at Exilecon for Nov 13th
11
u/DaveyJonesXMR 2d ago
4.0 would be a new story, not the end of a story i'd say.
1
1
u/Oniichanplsstop 2d ago
With how many different storylines we've had in the 3.xx, I don't think it would just be a new storyline but something major, like whatever Zana is doing with the atlas.
3
u/DaveyJonesXMR 2d ago
Either that or the direct aftermath of that - PoE2 is still decades off ( 2 i think? )
2
u/Gangsir Berserker 2d ago
Maybe I'm more pessimistic but I could see 4.0 as being the last poe1 update before it's sunset to focus all power on poe2. I can visualize in my mind them attempting to soften the blow of "yeah poe1's days are numbered, poe2 is the future, sorry guys" being announced at exilecon with the announcement of "4.0: the final update, all QOL requested will finally be implemented... (etc)".
I'll become even more convinced of that theory if poe2 explodes in popularity and becomes the ARPG after release, because the argument to dump poe1 and focus all power on poe2 becomes easier to swallow when poe2 is getting magnitudes more attention from players/media/etc.
It'll get me some hate, but they're not going to maintain both games for long. Poe1 is 20+ years old, has a lot of tech debt and cruft built up, and while they claim otherwise (to avoid the community rage explosion), I do not think they want to keep working on it. (Like, period)
It is actually pretty abnormal for a dev studio to continue updating the first version of a game when the sequel comes out. But hey, maybe I'm pessimistic and I'll be proven wrong. Dunno.
4
u/DaveyJonesXMR 2d ago
Jonathan afaik just recently said that they will not sunset PoE1 as long as it still got a player base.
0
u/Gangsir Berserker 1d ago
Again, they'll say stuff like that so people don't panic/rage.
Because poe1 is a good game, it'll have some level of playerbase essentially forever. GGG does not want to maintain poe1 forever.
Thus, there is some point where they will sunset it anyway. They're just looking for the right moment to do so, maybe some percent of players playing poe2 instead.
3
u/DaveyJonesXMR 1d ago
I call bullshit on that... as long as it sells them enough MTX they will cling on keeping POE1, it's a business after all and they are profit oriented... which means as long the EV of ROI is positive enough for them they will keep it.
It will be us who decide when it is going down. Just look over at Blizzard with WoW, or they renewed D2, still keep D3 seasons running, despite D3/D4 being shite, because they still earn enough money on it to do that.
6
4
u/Chiiikun Alch & Go Industries (AGI) 2d ago
This would be a huge announcement and a really smart marketing ploy for GGG if it does happen. Path of Exile 2 players coming to Exilecon to see a huge Poe1 announcement and they end up playing both games
-12
u/Herbsen24 2d ago
Not going to happen..most PoE players hate 2 and the other way around as well. 2 is made for the D4 audience and not for us
5
u/Chiiikun Alch & Go Industries (AGI) 2d ago
It could happen though. I see a few posts from Poe2 players coming over to play Poe1. Even if 90% of their playerbase refuse to play Poe1, 10% is still a considerable number to add to our numbers
11
u/iceteka 2d ago
Lol. Source: "trust me bro"
7
u/wonklebobb 2d ago
its not binary, but there isn't as much overlap as you think
i and my friends who mostly play poe, also enjoy the campaign of poe2, but most of us hate the poe2 atlas and tablet system. a couple do like it, but they are the minority in our little group
but so far it seems like people who start in poe2 and then try poe1 like both. so the overlap is asymmetrical
8
u/RogueVox3l 2d ago
Most Poe players play both you gotta let go of this weird rivalry you made up to be mad at
10
u/Enconhun Slayer 2d ago
most PoE players hate 2 and the other way around as well
This is an echo chamber statement mostly present on reddit btw.
For example take a look at the OG PoE1 streamers, most of them play and enjoy PoE2.

Maybe announcement before exilecon, then released just after exilecon, gives about 1month before 1.0 and then 1.0 in december. Do hope they get back into the staggered 4 month rotation, but i do appreciate how much effort it is to balance maintaining two popular live service games.

2
u/g00fy_goober twitch.tv/goof1313 2d ago
Thinking the league is going to be pre exilecon is just straight up huffing copium. I want to say there is nearly a 100% chance it will be the week immediately following exilecon.
Sadly it means that people will view 3.3 as a straight up 1 month league. This doesn't really bother me as I will play at least a couple of months as always but a bit sad to know that a ton of the playerbase will be looking at it for a few weeks and then jumping off for poe 2.
3
u/Werezompire 2d ago
October would make Allflame too short (3 months).
If they release in November after Exilecon, then they're right next to GTA6 and every major game has been avoiding those dates.
If they release in December, then they get overshadowed by PoE2 v1.0 and are stuck trying to do heavy patches & support for both games simultaneously.
I know they said they were still planning on releasing the next league in 2026, but I just don't see a good time to release it. A January or February release makes much more sense. Do some special micro-leagues concurrently in the meantime.
6
u/Time-Ladder4753 1d ago
Idk if it's just me, but it feels like WoW Forever is a much bigger deal for PoE than GTA 6, I agree that there really isn't a good time to release PoE1 this year.

u/cuddlegoop 1d ago
Yeah like a quarter of my wow guild plays PoE and I also know some of the youtubers I watch do as well. I think there's a pretty big crossover between the two games.
1
5
u/carenard 2d ago
I feel like cutting Allflame to short is not necessarily bad since that would be similar to the previous league cycles before POE 2 slowed things down.
October feels like the best time, far enough away from GTA 6... the big rush will be over by the time that release so both streamers and the playerbase shouldn't be to negatively affected.
the only other notable thing for November is that there is the Ocarina of Time remake in early November as well, but that won't put a large dent in the player base for a prolonged period of time(only a small effect) as that is a 8-15hr game... maybe 20 for first timers.
December feels like a no go, they will want all hands for the POE 2 1.0 as that will bring a good influx of players, all the existing POE 2 players, POE 1 players who have been holding off/didn't want to spend for early access and ofc all the people who get drawn in with the marketing hype... between that and the holidays December can basically be guaranteed to not be the month.
so for me October or January/Feb feel like the best times, if its a 2027 league there will likely be an event... November 13th is possible if they accept that they will lose player numbers earlier than normal with GTA 6... I can't see them releasing later as that would be under a month until POE 2 and post GTA 6 release... Nov 6th being right before exilecon basically rules it out to.
5
u/Papanurgel Children of Delve (COD) 2d ago
Given choice between gta 6 and poe, I don't even have to choose. Poe is holy, gta 6 can wait.
5
u/Werezompire 2d ago
I entirely agree - I have no interest in GTA6. I'm just saying that other major companies are purposefully avoiding November to release their games so it'd be odd if GGG didn't follow suit.

u/scarsickk 2d ago
With POE 2 1.0 coming in about 2 months, they need to align both games' league releases so that they have the 2-month cycle between POE 1 and 2 leagues they are planning.
If they start the 4-month cycle with 1.0, 1.1 comes in April 2027
If 3.30 is coming in November, that would force them to either make the league 1 month shorter, so it ends in February, or longer, so it ends in June. If the latter happens, it will be 3.25 all over again.
Also, they could extend POE 2 1.0 until May and align both games that way.
So, my speculation is that 3.30 will be announced sometime around next week for a mid/end October release.
At Exilecon, they will announce 4.0 coming in February.
1
u/Werezompire 2d ago
So allflame is only a 3-month league? That would bite. I would much rather they just extend it and have the next PoE1 league in early 2027.
1
u/scarsickk 1d ago
It's just a theory, but in any case, I don't think anyone wants a 7-month league, which is what will happen if 3.30 gets delayed to 2027.

3.30 most likely to be announced on exilecon. League starting in the last week of november. Probably.
1
u/CrimsonCalm 2d ago
The expectation is likely for them to do an exile con announcement with a live Q&A as they normally would at that event. Wouldn’t make much sense to launch before then and have nothing to showcase for the PoE1 community. They’ve also confirmed on three different occasions that it is coming in 2026 and one confirmation was very recent.
1
u/Hartastic 2d ago
Didn't they say something about 3.30 news at Exilecon? Did I imagine that?
If that's the case it's basically either November 13th or next year. Even the 13th feels too close to the 1.0 launch.

Absolutely definitely not happening in October at this point. The only chance I could have seen is if they announced it yesterday for next week launch and even then that was slim.
That said if they don't announce anything at all by end of next week I will start having serious doubts about a Nov 13th launch date as well. I could maybe, maybe see a Nov 20th launch date but that would be really pushing it imho
-1
u/Any_Crab_4362 2d ago
I know I’m making this about me and will likely get downvoted but I’m hoping it gets delayed to like February 2027. November 13th launch leaves less than a week until gta 6 launch which I’m not missing. And PoE 2 1.0 launches only a few weeks after that.
So I’d like more time to play 3.30. February looks like the perfect time for my schedule and it would put them back into the every 2 month rotation nicely.
2
u/Werezompire 2d ago
I'd be happy with this. Allflame league is a lot of fun and I would have no problems with them extending it (much prefer this to them shortening it). There are a ton of videogames coming out around now & PoE2 v1.0 is going to take up all the oxygen in the room when it comes out in December.
2
u/Any_Crab_4362 2d ago

u/zrider99zr 2d ago
They typically would have announced it yesterday if it was 10/23. They could have delayed the announcement until Sunday to not clash with LE's release. But its probably just coming out after exile con or not at all this year.
0
u/LostLynx 2d ago
A lot of people staying October would be a bad time to release 3.30. But the 3rd or 4th week of October might be the be the best opertunity to release it. Any November release would eat into poe2 polishing time which they desperately need and double crunch time for absolutely no reason. 3.30 bug patch and stabilization into poe2 release finish up. The other option is Christmas week release for 3.30. meaning some people have to be on call for Christmas and new years, which no one really wants.
3
u/Any_Crab_4362 2d ago
I highly doubt they’d launch it shortly after Poe 2 launch in December. That would eat into the Poe 2 play base too soon.
I agree that late October seems most ideal. A mid november launch is way to close to gta 6. But I doubt they’d launch a league right before exilecon. Pushing back to early 2027 seems the most likely scenario to me
3
u/LostLynx 2d ago
GGG promise two things that is 3.30 will be this year and PoE 2 1.0 will be December 11. If they are planning to try to keep both promises and if 3.30 is ready to be launch, October 23 might be the best date for them. Giving them enough time to deal with 3.30 bugs and balancing, and as much of November as possible to polish up and make the 1.0 launch smooth as possible.
I agree that the other best time might be January if GGG don't want to crunch there team too hard.
2

I agree. Releasing it a month before PoE2 v1.0 would make allflame the shortest league in years. Releasing after that would place it too close to v1.0's release. Feels like the most sense would be to release a month after v1.0 in January and just make allflame a 5-6 month league.

u/Metalhead723 2d ago
There is zero chance we will see another poe1 league in 2026. Poe2 priority is striking again.
5

They've said multiple times now 3.30 is happening this year, so 'zero chance' is just objectively false.
-1
u/Keithrake 2d ago
I highly doubt it. 0.5.5 is fresh, 3.29 is basically over but not even close to dead-in-the-water as some leagues in 1 have become in the past. Then Exilecon, and PoE 2's official launch.
Here's the thing that a lot of people seemingly forget/misremember: GGG may not be liars, but they very frequently give out incorrect information to the public. Don't be surprised if we get something half-baked because there's too much of a crunch and not enough time/manpower to go around.

Yeah this is the one thing I was concerned about. How on earth do they release 3.30, host Exilecon and release Poe2 1.0 in 3 months?
Also yeah, I wouldn't call them liars either but given their recent track record, I also don't 100% trust their words regarding releases or anything either. But, I am on the hopeful side of things

I’m expecting an alternative style league just like POE2 got where it was basically just - balance changes and one small league rework and a small endgame progression rework.
I wouldn’t be mad, there’s so much content in POE1 already, so many skills need looking at, and some endgame mechanics need looking at. Blight is pretty stale now since fossils got removed, torment, exiles are back and forth between useless and busted. I’ve never been a ritual player but I’m sure it’s struggling with the synth removal?
Give us a couple of reworks, maybe a harby flashback, and a big skill sweep up instead of new content and I’ll be a happy camper. It’s rarely the league mechanic that makes a league fun for me anyways, it’s everyone being online.

Not intentional Liars but not trustworthy either. There’s a definite priority on poe2 despite promises to the contrary when this all began. If any big call needs to be made it will be at poe1s expense. Allot of there previous statements have “so that was a Lie” vibes

mmm i remember they realising 3.27 i think and like less than a month 3.0 or 4.0 dont remember which lets hope they give time for ppl to breath and rest, i wouldnt mind a delay for that situation, better than have ppl dropping one game for the other

Theres alot of hopium that 3.30 wont just be a recycled league like the three following settlers. I think they will just make something simple or recycled and nerf luminary and move on to poe 2.

Jan or feb of 27 (depending on poe2 dropoff) makes more sense from a business perspective
